Okay all.My email to nigel, It's evident I'm not an expert letter writer and it's hard to know what to leave in or out. BUT ! It had to be kickstarted please all do tyhe same. Dear Mr Farage
I'm contacting you concerning a UK based Gold Mining company Petrovpavlovsk Plc which operates in Russia. This was founded by Peter Hambro in 1996. But unfortunately due to UK sanctions it is now in administration at great cost to the UK PI share holders who have now lost everything.
Her Majesties Government sanctions prevented an LSE FTSE 250 gold producer from selling its gold and servicing it's debt to Gaz Prom Bank and then as a consequence wiped out the savings of UK PI's investors when the company was forced into administration. The irony is the mines are still producing and processing gold and gold is a growing sought after commodity in the turbulent times we are heading into.
I twice emailed Liz Truss about this situation but not one reply and so far I've only had success via my MP Sally-Anne Hart, through who I've been able to get a response from (at that time) the Minister for North America and Europe. James Cleverly. He responded by mail but failed to show any empathy or consideration whatsoever , he just told us we knew the risks of investing in Russia. However .... there was little risk investing in Russia until the Government sanctions, as it was their actions in showing the world they were going to hurt Putin that actually destroyed the company. In fact all they achieved was the very opposite, i.e selling off over a billion dollars worth of the share holders money in plant, machinery, and the brand new state-of- the -art refractory POX hub processing facility, at knock down sale prices. Opus Business Advisory Group (the “Administrators”) do plan to sell the assets .
So the ill thought out sanctions designed to hurt Putin's Russia will now hand to him and his cronies the mines on a golden platter. They probably can't believe how stupid our government is.
But back to the UK personal investors many have been with Petropavlovks for years myself over ten and in that time I invested 170k and with a share price pre sanctions of 16p I had 278k. Of course it could be agreed that some action needs to be taken against Putin and that the fact that sanctions so far with global inflation, pushed up many prices that all UK citizens will have to shoulder this burden; but in the case of Petropavlovsk Plc it is the UK Pog investors who have made the biggest sacrifice of all - life time savings wiped out.
We were not consulted, asked or even apologised to, yet not one virtue signalling cabinet minister has lost a penny due to their actions. It's the share holder who have paid dearly and all to no avail, as the consequences of the sanctions will only serve to strengthen Putin's Russia as he has made it clear he wants the Ruble tied to gold
Basically we the share holders want our story told; how we paid a price
Again Nathan I've several times spoke about folk of goodwill will always find a solution. However I feel strukov, Akimov, Lioustiger and our chairman Lioustiger are not of good will and have been coniving for sometime working towards a cheap take over and all our UK gov did, was to make the takeover cheaper beyond their wildest dreams . Before Ukraine and sanctions it was a slow war of attrition but Boris and his cohorts actions put us shareholders directly in the cross hairs of the crooks guns
That's it Nathan. Nothing has been lost the ,mines and the pox hub are still there and gold is in great demand, this is madness, how can this situation be. All it would take by the UK gov is they take on POGs debt let them sell gold. Pog will soon pay back the UK gov, with interest. The Russians will be thoughtful about just taking the mines as one day in the future they will want normalization again. Pog need to pay the full debt to UMMC so surely there is other lenders. Of course they could be reluctant because of the mess and some of the largest share holders involved. However let this British mining company sell its gold and pay it's debt. These are extraordinary times which demand extraordinary solutions. I still can't understand that even if the sanctions were lifted that some experts say POG is still doomed?
"I apologise Lawrence, you know best: best of luck with your strategy."
No I don't know best and I've never said I did when it comes to this situation now. You have a go lets see you do it the right way. show us . What have you done so far except snipe
Well Nick at Opus did tell me he can't discus things with me as an individual but I guess I can still send him stuff

Okay Nick I do NOT expect you to discuss anymore with me , but please, please take into account the extraordinary circumstances of POG's demise, i.e. sanctions by our own government. My message on LSE and a response I think sums up the PI's feelings on the issue. I don't expect you to engage or answer.
Thanks and all the best

you're 100% right... A government is free and has the power to apply all the sanctions they like... AS LONG AS its citizens are compensated for any loss... In PG's case neither the company nor its investors broke any government law or rule

Pogs UK share holders and some others outside the UK have personally paid the price for the governments failed sanctions. Not one Cabinet Minister has lost a single bean for posing tough, they just sacrificed us to the Gods of moral virtue signalling instead.
If you think its all over
To the moon if you think writing to anyone will get you nowhere why are you here, Yo do realise this share has stopped trading so what is your rationale for being here and spreading dispersion on anyone trying? Why would you even bother if if think it's all over.
@RBrand
How many share did you use to hold?

Finbar who did you meet? It sounds like Pavel
"Fair enough Lawrence you seem to think by penning a letter railing against illegal immigration"
I wasn't railing against illegal immigration per se but was highlighting the difference in Government attitudes
and good luck with yours. How's it going by the way?
"is this, brining up the topic of illegal immigrants - do you think that has helped your cause? "
First thing is are you fighting for a cause? If so you fight your way and in answer to your question. Yes the truth with malice is always the best policy. For example the end of free BBC license fees for the over 75's ended last year , do you think that illegal immigrants when housed in hotels have to pay? This is not about race its about treating every one fairly not just the PC group of the day. And how about the Royal Bank of Scotland being bailed out as well as many others
To the moon. What have you been doing then
Thanks for your recent messages and for both the information you have provided and sharing your concerns about the outcome for ordinary UK shareholders.
The team handling the Administration here at Opus now have your information, for which they are most grateful.
So far as your concerns and suggestions, the Administrators are working to achieve the best possible outcome under very difficult circumstances for the Company’s stakeholders in accordance with the court order appointing them and their statutory obligations.
As I said in my first response to you, the Administrators will be circulating their Proposals in the coming weeks, which will provide details on progress to date and the future conduct of the case.
In the meanwhile, they are not able to enter into discussions with individual stakeholders on specific aspects of the failure of the Company or the minutiae of the actions they are taking. If there are significant developments prior to the publication of the Proposals, these may be made public subject to commercial and legal sensitivities.
With kind regards,
Nick Hood
Senior Business Adviser
For and on behalf of the Administrators of Petropavlovsk PLC
To the moon. Don't turn this into something its not but my point is legal hard working people are at the end of every help queue , we are just a piggy bank to our political class. There are UK pog investors of all kinds so cut it out .
Once I retired I never wanted to see excel again, so never purchased when up grading to W10
TTaylor. Are you doing that on excel or some sort of sorting software.?
