Ganfeng have bought the remaining 10% of this company and are planning to spend 570m over the next three years.

The BCN guys are looking at the final signature date, the binding signature was much earlier in the year. Easier than my previous rambling!

Sttropez, yes they are very unhappy and have a campaign, I see they suspect foul play.
I do not think they are correct.
I looked at two deals and it seems that even though the final agreements are not signed there is a binding stage much earlier in the process. Both of these had these in place.
If they signed one of those in June as an example, they must have been working on it much earlier in the year.
Last year everyone would have been ecstatic with those deals, and up to April this year.
The likes of Ganfeng are going to have to get inventive with their deals.
We have signed nothing, any contract we sign is based on today's figures.
Those guys are not going to be happy if we get a cracking deal.

StTropez, yes they were signed well before the lithium prices rose. I believe June and earlier.
If you remember we had also signed a deal for part of our lithium but, due to covid, ours timed out.
We are not tied to anyone.

If Ganfeng do not up their bid, the pressure is on with their other targets.

These companies are wakening up to the reality of the following years. We need more of this before we get our licence.

Hull, yes hopefully. It also gives the possibility of a very late one too, which could catch people out.
I think he will have it typed up, signed off and ready to go within an hour of receipt. Otherwise a halt to trading and double news if they have a deal ready to go too.

I would prefer at least to see the result of the current Ganfeng lithium bidding war on the 30th before receiving our licence news, at least a couple of weeks later. While no matter what happens we are going to do well, we do not want to undersell like Firefinch.
On the licence front, personally I think it more likely that the RNS for this is released during the day because of the time difference.
It would have to be signed late in the day to be a 7am RNS.
Of course 7am is possible as is any time.

With lithium and gold being so high in price there are some interesting deals being struck. This one is prepayment of future gold.

I reckon before long a deal may be a one off payment just for the sole rights to the material with no JV or similar or price fixing.

Timmomo, I have been excited for 6 months and cannot believe I am saying it either.
But the delay is not small, it has potentially added 100s of millions to the value of Kodal when granted.
Someone said Suay Chin or whatever they are called had miserable faces in the photo, no wonder they would have had 100s of millions extra money had it not been for covid 19 creating a delay.
Bernie must have dropped the bombshell that it would not be based on the old price.

We really do not need the licence landing too soon. Another 8 weeks or longer would be ideal.
Fair enough if it does.
But ideally we need time for the likes of Ganfeng and their competitors to adjust to these new prices and the ev car manufacturers to adjust too.

Aimtodeath, that is a good example, so in that example they did well moving from a 1.8m cash position to a 8.1m cash position. My link shows the additional change in the next six months with the small rise in lithium before the end of June, I think off the too of my head about 200 dollars per tonne for 3 of the 6 months moving their cash position to over 50m! What will their position be after the additional 500 dollars per tonne! For Kodal these figures are difficult to comprehend. Remember in the link below lithium only rose to about 700 dollars for 3 of the 6 months max

These follow on from the figures you posted in your link.

The average figure is from mid July to the present day. Just over 1000 dollars, but July was not high.
1000 dollars is over 300 dollars per tonne, that is massive for us, even before moving to the rolling average from this month onwards.

Agree, gold is so expensive Barrick is moving into exploration! They intend reducing acquisitions and increasing exploration. That takes time, long after ours are evaluated.
