Ganfeng bought into Firefinch which used to be called Mali Lithium next door to Kodal but the agreement was signed earlier in the year based on a spod price under 700 dollars, so it was big money but on the old price.
Remember if the price is 500 dollars per tonne higher there is no additional cost associated with this income, just the cost of banking the money.
We are trying to find any deal across the world, no matter how small or large based on the new/current lithium price where we can compare it to the company's original prediction based on old prices.
It gives us an idea of what Kodal may do as they are not bound to any company, covid delayed them and ours timed out - thank God. Firefinch were not so lucky and effectively gave theirs away.

Daz423, oil is in the majority of cases different, not all of it is going to make one large component.
Imagine BMW not having a clue about the end price of their battery in a car. It will not happen.
They will quickly think up a solution.
Collar and cap mine pricing like I suggested below, tranche buying, where X amount of 100,000 tonnes still in the ground will be bought at X price, so a tranche can go right up the line to the manufacturer or some other clever method.
Based on that last bid price a company would have to pay something like 600m to hold a 50% stake in Kodal. That would bankrupt them. I never checked that price incidentally.

Dicko, if I were the likes of Ganfeng I would alter my approach.
I would contract to take all material, give a one off cheque for the privilege, in the order of 200m, for this I would pay for every tonne no matter what the market price 980 dollars per tonne, I would pay any tonne price above that at market price up to a set agreed maximum, maybe 1500 dollars per tonne.
This way the likes of Garfeng get their supply and price security without risking bankruptcy and Kodal is richer than any of us ever thought in our wildest optimist dream.
Something has to change these figures are going crazy.
Ganfeng still has not responded to being outbid, they do not have much time left, if anyone sees what happens there, may be an indication of here.

Demand continues. Ganfeng also had 10 days to increase their offer on a different contract, may hear about that this week too.
If Ganfeng do not increase their offer then Kodal may become centre of their attention.

Yes I would say he knows what he is on about, probably in the industry, which is why his face is not seen, he may be currently regulated, there are so many rules it is understandable.
They maintain liquidity in the market. That is their function. Not so easy on AIM.

Basically when there is a real NAV, estimated by Kodal based on the old low spodumene price at only 300m, we will trade above or below nav depending on what the market thinks. You can't control what the market thinks.
However, as listed below the lithium price is way higher than those used by Kodal in their calculations, so we know the total NAV will be well over 300m, it has to be when you are getting nearly 50% more for the same material.
Based on that if it followed NAV it could be huge.
First we need the licence, then if they do a JV it is a case of how much they pay for 50% of the action.
Before 150m would have bought them 50% of the lithium only action. How much now?

In all of the spod price rise I completely forgot about the increased recovery RNS. That looks about right to me. Even forgetting the 2% rise per year, the figures are outrageous.
One of the manufacturers who gets caught without a regular supply is going to be paying a fortune through factors/brokers for any additional tonneage. As these are just spod prices.

Asllan-I am surprised that they have not simply tried to buy our shares. They would probably take control here for under 120m before the licence is issued.

I think it previously was a cost issue, the more expensive something becomes, the more you can chase it. Recycling will not impact our mine during its life.
