The potential for further cash windfalls from takeovers of investee companies is simply not factored into Oryx’s current valuation. The 27.8 per cent share price discount to NAV is well below the five-year average (23 per cent) and the intrinsic value of the portfolio companies is materially higher than the price traded in the market due to the structural undervaluation of UK equities.
