Update June 25, 2021
A message to all guests booked on Great British Isles Adventure aboard Spirit of Discovery departing July 11, 2021.
I hope that you are looking forward to your upcoming cruise onboard Spirit of Discovery.
I am writing to update you on changes that have been made to the itinerary of your cruise. You may already be aware that the Scottish Government’s roadmap out of lockdown differs from other parts of the UK, which means they will not be accepting cruise ships until the country reaches level 1 and some restrictions are lifted. A recent announcement by the Scottish Government, delaying moving into level 1, means it has been necessary to update the itinerary for your cruise.
I appreciate this may come as disappointing news, however, we are confident that we will still be able to provide the first class experience that you expect from us.
Your amended itinerary will now see Spirit of Discovery visit the following ports:
July 11. 2021. Tilbury. Depart 1800.
July 12. At sea.
July 13. Falmouth. Arrive 0800. Depart 2200.

Separately, we will send to you in the coming weeks a revised shore excursion programme detailing the opportunities for both the included and optional excursions, allowing you to explore these areas of the UK. Rest assured, each excursion is designed to showcase the best of these ports, whilst taking into account all ongoing public health restrictions.
I would like to apologise for this late change and to acknowledge any disappointment this may cause, we will refund 10% of the fare paid for your cruise, and with your permission we will automatically transfer your booking to the new itinerary, protecting the cabin you have booked. If you are happy with this change, you do not need to take any action. Of course, if you would rather amend or cancel your booking please call one of our Cruise Consultants on 0800 092 3911 and we will arrange this for you.
Lastly, may I take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for the support you have shown to both myself and my team over this last 15 months. We are all looking forward to finally welcoming you onboard on 11 July and getting back to cruising.
Good treatment from Saga (option to cancel/re-arrange cruise if passengers don't like not stopping in Scotland. Bit of a hit to income (reduction of 10% for inconvenience for those sticking with their booking) but g
