Interesting that some want to talk about films and bringing money in and all others want to do is talk their way out of their own shares. Selling and rebuying etc etc. The only thing shorts are doing right now are reducing and closing.

For those that are actually interested in Cineworld and the business end of things and actually making money, a quick google search for Mulan and Cinema City shows that Mulan has either just commenced showing or is just about to start showing in 7 countries that Cineworld have cinemas.

Mulan can happily add to the Tenet takings in each of them.

Romania, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria and also in the United Arab Emirates in Dubai and Sharjah have it listed.

Nil bad news in fact its to the contrary with our Romanian cinemas opening into both tenet and Mulan and Polish cinemas showing Mulan also.

Make that nearly 25% undervalued.

There was a 20% fall in the Cineworld share price worked off the mistaken perception that a Chinese holder Jangho had sold down their holding by 3%. An over-exaggerated fall in any case given the small relative sale.

But in actual fact there was only a net reduction of 0.065%

Morgan Stanley increased their stake from 1.84% to 1.9% (26/8) then added again 1.9% to 2.66% (28/8) So added 0.82%.

Polaris Capital also twice added to their shareholding. From 5.03% to 6.03% (26/8) and then to 7.145 (4/9). So a gain in shareholding of 2.115%

Both added together they increased their holdings by a combined 2.935%

So a fall of 20% off only a 0.065% change in shareholding.

1/3 of its pre-Covid19 share price of 180p

Following up on this article focussing on San Diego in California I have just been researching coronavirus capacity limits on reopening US cinemas in several other counties in the US and although not accounting for all states there can be vast differences. Not only that but in some states it can be either percentage based or numerical or in some a combination of both .

Montana has a 70-99% capacity limit.
15 States including Texas, Florida, Colorado have a 50% to 70% capacity limit
16 States have limited capacity not on a percentage basis but based purely on social distancing. including Pennsylvania, Oregon, Ohio and Missouri.
6 states only are limiting capacity to between 20% to 49% capacity. E.g. Michigan, Kentucky and California presently
NY and although not a state LA is still closed and we await further information.

If anyone can come up with a more comprehensive list then I wish them the best of luck as its a near impossible task.

Lets just ignore them for the evening.

The writer travelled 4 hours to see the film with his two children as LA cinemas and Hollywood cinemas themselves ironically are still closed.

Tenet was showing on 9 of 18 multiplex screens at 19 times through the day so essentially every 1/2 hour. Capacity in San Diego was only 25% and they only opened the cinema 4 days prior to Tenets release. It was selling out and they were hitting their auditorium capacity limits and mall outside was packed. Also hints at LA and NY cinemas being reopened by the end of the month.

It's actually a good commentary and lets see if it prompts the AMC CEO, the Cinemark CEO or even Mooky to comment on initial attendances.

Again its interesting that good journalistic content publishes on the Labour Day weekend when in actual fact they must only have been 1/3 or at most 2/3 through that long weekend.

Still the numbers are very encouraging given some cinemas only got opened on the actual eve of Tenet's US debut. They would hardly even have had time to let the paste set on the posters on the advertising hoardings.

Closed the door on Buy quotes in the last 5 minutes PrayFor and put it to Negotiated Trade for lower than £5k on the dummy trades I tried.

Not going to grumble with a positive finish though.

Thats a marginal gain on Friday and 1.75% today so confidence returning after Jangho's sale or should it properly be referred to as Morgan Stanley and Polaris Capitals increase in stakes.

I haven't booked or seen Tenet yet but will look tonight to get some Cineworld Imax tickets for the weekend for the family. Might even double it up with the New Mutants.

I think the market makers have been trying to stock up before we get fuller Labour Day weekend and RoW figures.
