Some say it could be down to Tenet's performance at the US Box Office that was initially reported as $20.2 Million and described as pleasing considering the return from Covid19, only about 60% of cinemas presently reopened and seating capacity restrictions.

But now most figures have been collated it is up to over $28 Million.

It's probably just me but I am struggling desperately to find the reason for the fall from 68p to 53p

Some have said it is down to Jangho selling 3%
But that cannot be so as Polaris Capital and Morgan Stanley bought 2.935%.

It is not a comparison with last year as the circs are completely different. This is about rebuilding cinema attendances after a pandemic and its heading in the right direction.

Good that tenet did £7 Million more in the Labour day weekend than was previously reported.
Good also that we have Mulan showing in 7 countries where we have cinemas.
Good also that Orange county has just sanctioned the reopening of cinemas. They following on from San Diego last week. Won't be long until its LA and NY.

Shame some seek to destroy shareholder value and steal away from them rather than give the company the credit it deserves for getting a massive cinema operation up and running in 11 countries and getting people back through the doors.

That plus the fact they have 1/2 Billion liquidity and they sell profitable oil at $40 per barrel which will only improve as winter sets in and economies recover.

I think it was inevitable that hedge funds had a revisit to 15p in sight for results given the direction of travel beforehand and they achieved their mission.

That should be all the Covid 19 bad news out the way and they will play it back up.

Because there was some scaremongering done today backed by trade games that induced others to sell and it was based on the Government making an announcement on new Coronavirus restrictions. Some sought to scare that it would lead to a National lockdown again in the UK.

By contrast the announcement from Matt Han **** imposed only a local lockdown in Bolton with pubs, bars and restaurants to close straight away. It transpires that despite all the scaremongering it will have a negligible impact on Cineworld as they only have 1 Cinema of 727 multiples in total sited in Bolton and the only impact that the new restrictions will have is that the one venue will now have to close at 10p.m.

Some sanity was regained after about 20 million shares were traded with it regaining 6% of the fall as the stock was bought up but it is still about 4% or 5% short of the share price earlier in the day.

Like many we all noticed tonight off the kind hearted idw that the Labour Day weekend numbers for Tenet have improved a lot and by about 33% or the one days worth of ticket sales that was missing from previous commentaries. Also just be aware that Cineworld have gained a bit of additional fortune with Disney's Mulan being shown in all their CinemaCity multiplexes in Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic and in the United Arab Emirates. Some showing now and others to start to show it in the next few days and weeks.

It appears to be the case that after all that Sell, Sell, Sell National lockdown coming the most that has actually happened is about 2 hours closing knocked off the end of the evening closing time.

Cineworld have 787 Multiplex cinemas globally. We have 1 in Bolton and even after Han****s statement I think that one might remain open as it seemed pubs and restaurants and care homes that he has targetted.

All this whilst virtually all Cineworld cinemas have reopened from a 5 month standstil with nil revenue. Thats into Christopher Nolan's Tenet and into Disney' Mulan in 7 countries as well. Funding sorted and just waiting for News on New York and LA. Paramount decrees ruling also makes us highly prone to a takeover bid.

Forgive me for saying it but this is a complete sham of a market in this stock. One that bears no relationship to the reality of what is going on.
