Just over 3 months ago and just prior to the Russia / Ukraine conflict having started the share price was in the 42p range. That was in February (About 25th Feb) when it has to be said the film slate was also very weak. Easily seen on the 6 monthly historical chart.

The Russia / Ukraine conflict in reality has had ZERO effect on CINE as it does not have cinemas in either country, nor is it reliant on either - so no impact.

Fast forward now with a vastly improved film slate and now 3 months on the realisation that Russia / Ukraine has nil impact

Add on top Rishi Sunaks measures to substantially mitigate any cost of living crisis.

Its a share price that has taken a downward hit for everything and which until Thursday last week hadn't really been giving anything back. Imho that previous 42p in February might therefore be a semi-decent short term target for it to be getting back to, and hopefully with a bit more on top.

Also been 120p on all cinemas shut and 88p on the Bond film

Still got imho oversold US cinema stocks to react to TopGun Maverick outperforming.

Memorial Day today so markets closed and most probably heading to the cinemas later today.

I think we can take a good guess which way AMC Entertainment will head tomorrrow.

The market has got the pricing of @CINE and @EMAN completely wrong since Dr Strange and the Multiverse of Madness kicked off the summer season which has a slate laden with good movies. Best seen since re-openings.

@CINE has been artificially and imho overly depressed due to short positions who look like they have called it completely wrong on Topgun Maverick and may have to start buying back quickish (maybe started). Offers 2D, 3D, Imax, ScreenX and 4dX experiences and benefits hugely from a large uptick in the US with over 70% of its business there. UK and mainly eastern Europe / Israel making up the other circa 30%.

@EMAN is solely UK based, well managed debt, no court case, expanding company selling premium priced seats in plush smaller cinemas but with waiter / waitress service to comfy seats from a good food and drink menu. Trading update end July which should coincide nicely with whats coming.

I hold both for their own uniqueness and the anticipated summer Box office and because they are not in direct competition.

I'm also roped into going to see Elvis Bonkers (unless my wife takes the inlaws instead) and it was good timing to drop the trailer.

Incidentally on counting through others I have spoken to since seeing TopGunMaverick I have count of over 17 that are intent on seeing it with 2 of those in for a screening this afternoon.

Takes more than 1 swallow to make a summer. Fortunately this year we have a flock of them arriving.

Last week I think was your chance and well done all who loaded up about 182p.

Had to start reaching for the skys again at a 20% discount to the placing price and with summer holidays in only a few months.

You are probably using the wrong metrics if you are trying to compare the month of May 2022 to a month in 2019 that had Avengers Endgame in it when arriving at 72% or if you use the year before with Infinity War. Highest grossing films with tough comparables and probably underestimating the percentage. Massive improvement this month on the two preceding months which were in themselves improving and highly profitable.

TopGunMaverick cumulative audience all next month with Jurassic World Dominion + Lightyear + Elvis across the back.

Dare I say share price far too cheap considering on both the two UK cinema stocks @CINE and @EMAN. The charts tell the picture.

TopGun Maverick has only gone and smashed it with a $151 Million opening weekend (including Memorial Day) and great International sales on top. Been tracking several cinemas on this and they have been selling out and its the same picture next week. Its going to be a very good summer.

I think if you haven't booked next week already in the UK you might wish to consider doing so sooner rather than later.

One of my barometer cinemas which I last checked on Friday is showing a massive upsurge in demand all the way through to next weekend. Evenings are sold out already and its restricted availability unless you want to go for the early bird showings of 10a.m. through to about 1.30p.m. Might fare better at the bigger chains with more screens and showings.

Never seen such a surge in demand in the space of a day and a half and its looking like a very good summer for both @Cine and @EMAN.

That's the power of word of mouth, social media, advertising and influencers.

Sorry to hear that mountainous although I was trying to tell all it was filling up and those leaving it slightly late might be disappointed. Hopefully you get to remedy things next week although I have agree with Cruis in that there might not be too much of a drop off due to the calibre of the film, word of mouth and probably people rebooking in the premier formats. I was checking evening VIP showings also and it was maxxed.

The one thing I am not is a sad individual and everybody on here can formulate their own opinions on your duplicitious posting style. You'll find most bulletin boards do exactly the same.

Yes, those movies that do release are starting more and more to "do ok".
Unfortunately still not enough of them and few doing far beyond expectations.

Combined this results in yet another sub par month.
We are now a year in from re-starting business and the North American market in particular is a long way off pre COVID level's (levels the company will want to be at to enable it to turn finances around).

US market for industry really we want to be seeing minimum $200m/week (not just the odd week) week in week out."

I also saw quick tv adverts last night popping up constantly at commercial breaks on 5USA last night and they are were also advertising Jurassic World Dominion on there as well.

No substitute also for word of mouth with family and friends and influencers working their magic.

Dr Strange and the Multiverse of Madness started off what should be a very good summer for both my shares in Cineworld and Everyman Cinema.

Mrs Lat just got in with another 4 from her side of the family after seeing TGM and they haven't stopped raving about the film since they got in. Absolutely loved it. Tab passed to me and already plotting going back.

Been checking one of my barometer cinemas over the last few days and the UK is turning out in a big way for the film. In fact you will struggle to get a seat this weekend with sell outs and restricted availability. Just need the US and the Rest of the World territories to embrace alse.

Another positive day again today. Is it the start of a trend reversal?

Hinted at that yesterday with a newspaper article covering it.

But not the same as seeing it in person and no doubt broadcast on the James Corden show.
