the German mask15 Dec 2020 15:05
I don't want to upset anyone on the board, so please take my two-penneth as science. Whether people here know it or not, because I have not seen it mentioned, there is a German company already making these masks. It is a four-layer one and has passed the EN tests, and is being sold. I ordered a pack of 5 for 45 Euro, and received them today. I was surprised to find how lightweight they were, and could not believe it had four layers, so they must be very thin. It certainly is a lot easier to breath through than the regular cheapo blue/light-blue masks, and of course they have the same anti-viral kind of copper coating as the Ph2F mask. Basically, I am very pleased with it, knowing I am now protected against incoming viruses too. I feel very tempted to buy some more and send them to my aging family in England as a Christmas present. Of course, people will tend to trust something made in England, rather than by a foreign company, so all I can say is to give Dr Cave full support and encourage him to get on with the job rather than all the nasty criticisms I am seeing here. Whether five layers are better/necessary, I don't know, so my closing words are to get the 4-layer up and running, and selling. I am pretty sure the German one will sell like hot cakes as they becomes known about, so I don't see why a home-grown one shouldn't either.
I am a holder of RMS. Regards, Larryh.
