Could anyone tell me what the uk tax on dividends is these days. I thought I heard something about a drastic increase which was in or is coming in a budget? There are lots of juicy divs around at the moment but not much use if a good slice will be lost (squandered) by government. I can squander it better! tx in advance, L

Hi lewarnie, Sorry to have left my post for so long. It is good to see the sp creeping upwards, almost in parallel with the drilling ship aproaching. Money week analysis said today that the oil price is going to exceed the last peek, so I reckon that's something to look forward to. In the meantime, encourage everyone to eat more squid! That's our bread & butter dividends! Good luck Mr Solomon in your retirement! I always have a hidden glow of confidence in fkl. I've had the shares for donkey's years. They are a very steady, slow-but-sure company. The oil is a bonus.

I'll keep you company for a while cbart! Seems like this stock is levelling out a bit now. I'm seeing various comments of it not doing much in the coming 12 months, maybe this is the reason? Anyway, I've regained my losses, so I am happy now. But was there a reason for its excellent rise, one wonders, apart from the fact that Britain's debtors are ever increasing, hence more credit checks being made?

Why aren't any directors buying the shares, being so cheap (seemingly) and an excellent dividend?

There is something not quite right with this company- Their website pictures gives the impression of being a world major, yet their market cap is minimal and the sp is decining. I've also just sent them an email asking why they use fahrenheit for temperatures in their website scientific charts. All vey odd.

Your stockbroker is correct, technology wise, it is an outstanding company, but of the financial side, I know little.

I sold my BT and bought these at 70p after following all the bull noise in this group - now it has got the death roll over. Anyone giving me hope! PS - don't buy anything I buy - they always seem to drop afterwards.
