thats my point ****nal17 - we are so far behind rest of modern europe when we do try catch up its going to cost huge amounts , but although its the usual goverment mess of planning and costs , i do think a high speed rail country wide is where we need to go at some point , done over decades as part of regular long term investment and planning is of course the way it should have been done but we are where we are , runways , rail , smrs , housing , debt reduction, health care is or should be all about long term politics and planning , but as i said we live in a short term political cycle that doesnt work - we the voters are just as much to blame as we vote for these morons who just wanna stay in power and keep their lovely wages and expense accounts at whatever cost to the country.

Not sure its fair to call HS2 a failure it isnt built or open yet , its expensive yes but shows more the lack of proper investment in our transport network over last 50 yrs , look how good japan,france,germany and hollands networks are that they have been investing in for decades , we fail as a country because of short term politics no long term planning in anything , look at transport , housing , national debt , health , all short term rubbish to buy votes for next election only and we have done it for decades

Markets down but RR still in the BLUE - slow and steady is fine by me :) I was a bit tempted to sell but think im gonna hang on for the 3 pound party :) GLA

Sorry i appreciate that no1Scarlet i only bought in a few months ago at 1.44 , but im tempted to sell my RR has i have a 29.5% profit at moment and stick it all in IAG as im sure will be north of 3 pound next year once Divi is re-instated.

IV got RR as well as IAG - im happy holding both :) sure they will both be 3pound + by next summer - be patient

I agree Crudeoink I see no point in having arguments with complete strangers, WHO CARES? opinions are fine but insults are pointless and non-productive - Just enjoy the rise chill and hold in my opinion :)

I assume the zero growth is upsetting the markets but i gotta say the reduction in debt is the big thing for me , another year like that after some cost cutting maybe a 3 merger sell spain and italy , for LTH this looks good to me

Update was ok, i expected flying hrs above 90% already but its on the way and future looks good, hopefully get a bit more detail and enthusiasm at the AGM and SP will move up :) be patient

IAG reporting good results today (its coming back good recovery stock) , passenger numbers now at 97% of pre covid levels , this gotta be good news for RR , im holding both waiting for takeoff

Anyone got any thoughts of a dividend return anytime soon? or paying down debt more important do we think?

I only have a small holding here, its going to be a long term turnaround and lots of factors can upset things,we need inflation down, energy costs down, economy turned around, people need to feel better off before splashing out on expensive pints and meals and nights out, baby steps here will take time MARS needs to achieve what they said they would debt below 1b asap and increase margins/lower costs, i accept could be 2-3 yrs before this looks good again , but i have time and the patience, good luck all

not sure those maths quite adds up without including the 1.6b debt :(

holding both IAG & RR , i expect next trading updates for both to be very positive and both shares to move above 2 pounds within 6 months
