Another day where the share seems all over the place, again not sure why? I had assumed, wrongly as it has turned out, that becoming a FTSE 250 company would settle things down. Still think this is an excellent share for the future, still very much in the growth phase but generating lots of free cash flow and already buying back shares as well as throwing off an impressive dividend.

Is this another one of your jokes Kever? I must say none of them has been remotely funny so far. I've read everything that's been published re the VOG fiasco, and have no reason whatsoever to imagine that any payment will be made for and on behalf of VOG or their administrators or (in due course) liquidators to ordinary shareholders of the company. There are creditors and former directors/managers who might see a proportion of what is owed, but there'll be nowt left by the time they've been dealt with. Perhaps they could create a JV with TRP - half the Thali asset for half the Douala resource? Non-tangible assets, some on here like to refer to them as.

Hi saintly, I don't hold LXI but have the other four in your portfolio, together with SUPR, THRL and IHR. As you can imagine it's been a frustrating year, seeing them all trading below or well below their NAV. I can't believe there hasn't already been M&A activity in the sector, given their relatively small size, although I suspect there isn't huge upside from consolidation given the business model should involve a relatively low cost base. Anyway, at least none of them have got themselves into the mess that is HOME REIT, hopefully for shareholders over there AEW might be able to recover at least some of their funds going forward. Good luck saintly, keep up the good work & keep collecting the dividends. K

I note that you were also invested in VOG (as was I) where you reassured fellow holders that "all was not lost". Sadly all was indeed lost, for PI's anyway. You appear to have learned nothing from what should have been a chastening experience there.

Trading ahead of expectations in the first half and confident of meeting full-year guidance. This company continues to perform well in what are extremely challenging circumstances. Bodes well for the dividend.

Thanks Agricore, I've not been through a wind-up similar to this before. It certainly looks quite compelling, if I had funds available I might be adding.

I do0n't have a problem with the estimated inflows, I just think there are likely to be significant additional costs associated with liquidating the assets, temporary staffing costs, redundancies, legal costs etc. that have yet to be factored in and may have a significant impact on the funds attributable to shareholders. I guess we won't really know until we start to get some visibility of payments to shareholders. It's not going to be easy to keep track of going forward, but at least your numbers suggest that shareholders should come out of this with more than the 71.2p currently on offer. I'll be holding on that basis.

It strikes me there are lots of similarities between SAR and AIM oilies in the way things are reported, and in the share movements. Oilies announce a well spud date (first dosing date) and the SP goes up in anticipation, then the excitement dies down & the SP drifts. Occasionally there'll be a rumour that causes a spike down (it's a duster/a patient in the trial has died) or up (we struck oil/a patient has recovered) but it settles into a drift again pending news. Then, as the finale approaches (maximum well depth/end of trial) the excitement builds, the SP fluctuates wildly, the herd arrives ("you're an idiot" - "no I'm not, you're the idiot" and so forth) and then finally all is revealed and the SP either flies or collapses. Then move onto the next target (well/drug) and repeat.

Mike/Sam/Riverboy, informative posts as always, thanks. I don't have much to add as I don't have the knowledge & experience of the shipping industry that you guys have. I was just lucky to find this one from a tip in Shares Magazine & have been invested since day 1.

My comments re the annual report and Q1 update are that only two of my four hoped-for developments were met - the dividend was maintained and the debt reduced. I had hoped not to read about vessel disposals, given they are the lifeblood of the company, so there have been too many for my liking. I guess you could argue that debt reduction at this stage is more important, but I'd have rather seen a two-year target for that if it meant retaining more vessels within the group.

The other missing component for me was clarity on the TMI/Grindrod situation going forward. I wish they would either say they will continue to trade under separate names for the foreseeable future, or that the plan is to move towards a Taylor Grindrod full merger at some point, with this and the remaining Grind shares still in private hands it's all a bit messy and therefore (with the dual listing) more expensive than it needs to be. Hopefully more on this later in the year.

Agreed Agricore, hoping for a more positive environment for REIT's going forward and for this one in particular where I am over-exposed.

Well if you'd invested 5 years ago you'd only have half your money left now, so it hasn't been a great long-term investment. However, now they've slashed the dividend payment to a level that's fully covered and at this stage of the investment cycle, I think there's a pretty good chance of better things ahead for RLE. I'll be hanging on to the shares I didn't sell after the cut in the dividend, and may even add a few at this level. See you in October for the next divi saintly.

GSF Portfolio and Trading Update, 6th July:

I guess TENT see Field Energy developing at pace, and if others are seeing the same attraction at 4x the scale of their investment, there could be potential for an earlier roi and further investments down the line? My concern is the investment (at this stage anyway) is UK based when the likes of GSF are already reporting saturation and reducing returns from UK battery storage.

You don't seem to be factoring any costs into your estimates Agricore?

On the other hand, inflation is c. 3% in the States & interest rates are still rising. We've got a long, long way to go here yet. They may have called this right.
