How can they pay a dividend when they're making a loss? That's not sustainable. I suspect we'll have to wait for the coal price to recover, because it's not sustainable either at this low rate.
Indeed it has. Expected but painful to read all the same. Bear in mind the impact on world coal prices the last time a major conflict broke out though, anything can happen here.
Bound to be volatility in the share until suspension. The market hates uncertainty. Let's hope if nothing else that a confirmed timeline is presented ahead of suspension which the auditor is signed up to.
Fair enough, just bear in mind this is yielding c. 6% at this price too so not just potential growth available. Accepting that might not be of interest to value investors but for us oldies it all helps. Good luck with your other investments, thanks for your posts here. K
Audit Committee Chair is René Proglio one of the NEDS. The NED Chair also sits on the Audit Committee. See the Governance section of the company's website.
The CFO is Stéphane Gibon although he doesn't sit on the main Board. That's an issue in my view - who takes responsibility at Board level when something like this arises? There are 3 members of the Crasnianski family on the Board, all with Executive roles, plus a Company Secretary (Del Mansi), along with 4 NEDS (including the Chairman).
Gibon is a member of the "Executive Team" together with the three Crasnianski family members. He always joins Vlad for presentations via the Investor Meet Company platform following results etc.
Predictable market reaction. Record turnover & profit expectation restated, share buyback announced. Vlad is obviously furious with the auditors which is understandable. I've bought more.
I'm afraid, as has become apparent for some considerable time now, you can't believe a word they say when it comes to the dividend, either date or amount. New Board, fresh promises, same old...
Mr. Market doesn't like the timescale. Surely the most important thing here though is we're still in the game? Appears now there may be more buying opportunities to come before results from the new trial are known.
Thanks Dr_H, that's really helpful. Let's hope the years of waiting are finally about to pay off. Portfolio already looking so much healthier thanks to the recent rally. GLA, have a great weekend. K
Out of interest, where is all this coming from? We've been waiting years for the Blue Hat approval and suddenly we're expecting it today/tomorrow/Monday? How so?
Yes I've recently opened an account with AJ Bell. I used to subscribe to Shares Magazine, which is owned by AJ Bell, but they recently took it in-house. They promised the same range of tools as they had developed in Shares Magazine but their Watchlist product is a very poor substitute. I can't find a provider who offers real-time data including live bid & ask, volume, day high-low, 12-month high-low and daily change + - (which is what I used to get from Shares Magazine). I can't justify paying for Level 2 because I'm not a trader as such, but I do like to monitor my portfolio.
HL are notoriously slow with these things, particularly when there is currency conversion involved. Always get there in the end though. What I like most about HL is the range of investments they offer compared to some other platforms. Justifies the extra cost from my perspective. Bit frustrated that I can't currently buy UKSD on there though. I've done very well with SDIP, which is the global equivalent, and would like to invest my TMIP monies in the newly-launched UK version but no quote. Perhaps it's too early for them to assess it?
