I can't tell you what the results of the strategic review will be (nobody can) but I'm not surprised it's happening. All the solar companies are struggling and have been for some time now. For me, it's disappointing that there hasn't been any M&A activity in the sector (I also hold NESF and FSFL) and I agree it's worrying if due diligence hasn't resulted in an offer. I don't think they would have announced a target dividend for the year of 9p if they weren't fairly confident they could deliver on that before any changes take place.
My experience with other companies is that these reviews (and consultations with major shareholders etc.) take a long time, so I expect to see 2.3p XD Thursday plus the 9p in the next 15 months. Others disagree, they may be right. In the mean time, I hope things will improve across the green energy sector as a whole so that the SP at least begins to come back to the NAV.
I hold other Funds and Trusts which are actively winding down to return money to shareholders, none of them are getting close to the NAV so I wouldn't support that option. The 'fairly quick' 20% gain is a myth in my view. So this is at the riskier end of my investments, which these days are mainly dividend-paying ETF's and other fairly boring dividend machines like TFIF, SMIF, MNG, CTY, MRCH etc. plus my free-running TW., BP & III.
