Thoughts why would SP go below asset value? The real question is on the cost to handle all the complaints, the very nature of Amigo is with guarantors stepping up for someone else that may not afford the loan. End of July we’ll know the FCAs stance, then boom or bust.
I try not to invest in temporary phases, but it is clear to me following Covid some factors will remain permanent. I sense ODX will have a good future as testing will no doubt be in demand, not just for Covid, but am very disappointed in past management decisions, PR and posted losses. Every investor loves big and fast profits, but I doubt ODX will be as quick or as high as some hope. Good article though.
Merchant, this is a lot of cash, aNd a good % of T/O, perhaps just on paper but it’s turned ODX from expected profit to unexpected loss. Agree with prioritisation, but to me (and this is my personal opinion) the past Decision on products pulled into ODX’s portfolio wasn’t the best one. I saw the 7.7 mainly as cost of reversal.
Agree merchant - no need to be “too” greedy here, but I will say.. Between poor PR, cancellation of product lines that aren’t even that old, and finally the exceptional charges of GBP7.7 million = Very unexceptional management!!!! IMHO
Wtatr, thanks for sharing and the insight and congrats on getting yourself out of the gambling. With AmgO- Did you or your guarantor ever have to sign an agreement stating around affordability? And did this include what the ££ was for? Just thinking that would be considered as a contract, minus Amgo’s due diligence to check. My biggest fear here is the risk that legal firms will be advertising this like PPI, and many will apply just for a quick buck, regardless of if amigo did good by them or not but FCA based on what I’ve seen will have a balanced approach which is likely to improve once the new BOD are in play. .
