After the expanded r&d arrangement we know STM placed the first commercial order to go in their IR sensor product that they sell on to their customers ..they are a world leader in electronics with $17b of revenues.

That’s talking sensors , not units or revenues..revenue is what I was referring to and accurately set out BTs comments. As Nanonano points out there will be multiple sensors per headset and we don’t know if they incorporate Nanoco materials or how many might. I was pointing out that the initial order seems to have covered the initial release…if and it’s still an if they are in there at all.

Nanonano so revenues in the hundreds of $k for the initial order covering the launch (200k units) would not surprise you? Sounds in line with your figures.

What date was that..guidance moved from low volume order being a few $Ms earlier last year to being in the hundreds $k later in the year. Agree though there will be several sensors per unit ..however the overall size of order guided to and the speed they shipped might be a factor.

The amount of material in these micro sensors is not on a level with the CFQDs in display markets. Was not being negative but wondering if the initial order covered the initial sold out supply.

It does appear that the revenues even if it is in Vision Pro might be rather disappointing. On the figures we know so far , we have received an order from STM in the low hundreds , that they got , filled and delivered in a matter of weeks..now we see that 180,000 Vision Pro units have been pre sold (5-7 weeks delivery) ..if that one order is sufficient for that initial demand ? Seems no one is getting rich quick if that’s the case…appreciate sentiment will be a bigger factor than the financials on the prospect of near IR sensors rolling out into an Apple product range and STM can sell to the rest of their customer base with Apple as a first adopter ?? But considering the technology involved and the USP of the eye and gesture tracking , if it is enabled by the materials developed over years based on over 20 years of nanoparticle research it doesn’t sound like we are getting much per unit at the moment…it’s great being in an Apple supply chain but they always have the whip hand on margins I guess. See how it all pans out.

The shares hit the highest level for over 9 months and were trading 18% up ytd so maybe not surprising they are doing some work here , .they are still down 42% on a one year basis and 52% on a 5 year basis ..if they are on the cusp there must be some more upside surely !!

Key date is obviously the ex date whether divi or tender there will be a pre announced cut off point where you are entitled to receive the divi or tender your shares. On market share buyback they will need shareholder approval. Whatever they do will have to be announced with good notice and any time sensitive dates given.

The manufacturing capacity has been there since the days when Apple walked they geared up to produce for mass devices then Apple walked…the capacity has been refined for current materials i understand ..but reckon they will retain capacity for CFQD’s should any of the renewed interest in display were to materialise into orders.

Not moved facility they have established a new facility within existing to test on devices ..they think that could speed up customer trials.

That has been the case for quite a few years..the bigger problem for small technology companies is not having the capacity to deliver commercial demand ..Nanoco is in an enviable position of being able to deliver well over £100m of product with their current facilities .

Whilst the outlook is somewhat opaque as there is precious little detail around commercialisation

Risks:

A business with £60m cash in is definitely worth more than one with £20m cash in. There may be a small positive in terms of enterprise value on a capital distribution but since there is precious little now i cant see it suddenly jumping by 5 fold to keep the effective price the same. Not a risk just facts.

STM has accepted first commercial delivery of first generation materials and has recently extended the r&d agreement to second generation materials..why would they walk??

Have to agree there is no clear road map , but the company has achieved first commercial order (albeit small and undefined) with one of the biggest and innovative semiconductor companies in the world with turnover of over $17b. So whilst we have been close before it does feel the time and wider technology background is ready to see if this can fly.

Since it is currently valued just over cash as opposed to many pre revenue technology companies that are all hope and enterprise value ..the risk /reward is far more in investors favour as they will not have to be going cap in hand to investors for many years ..even if their current guidance ends up stretching.

Maybe someone wants to set out the potential rewards for balance ! Please don’t.

Does beg the question how exactly was he bullied previously and by who..and what did it cost shareholders?!

As far as i am aware the materials developed for STM are not for exclusive use and Nanoco are free to sell the manufactured materials elsewhere..cant remember where i picked that up so maybe wrong but believe it is the case.
