Sold Axelos for 11 times EBITDA, sold ESS for 8 times EBITDA

So quid would be a steel (but cant see the controlling shareholders even considering the offer) - 80% shares with IIs - they would value this at 2.5-3.0BN - so would want over 150p a share

But Pass, you know these things - thats why you dont back your statements up with facts and figures - and business is all about facts and figures - M&A is only about facts and figures!!

But AA had huge debt - and nothing like the profitability of CPI

CPI now has a cash mountain (more than Mkt Cap) and disposal proceeds coming of a further 200M which will pay the almost due loan repayment

No risk of going bust - IF PE came (doubt it personally although would love it) they would be paying close to a quid to get the 80% owners (II's) to even consider to sell

No worries on this one - if you sell for you 10-20% good luck - but that is not my game (although I will sell on some of peaks in 40s and buy those dips as I have successfully done with my trading cash holdings for over a year)

If the disposals planned for 2022 (likely travel/entertainment sector) at decent multiples - a special dividend is likely.

As for adjusting figures to make it look like a profit, you are fully aware that Continuous Ops profit is what the business is

Of course if you close an office 5 years before break clause / end of tenancy, and settle with the landlord, you dont treat that as this years costs

But you know that, its the poor individuals who dont understand IFRS or Accounting Standards that get lost (some on here even think profit made in a business unit sold goes to the buying company!!), so its not too hard for you to confuse many on here into selling

This is one of the last FTSE250 shares to get back to its value - i understand that its easy to frighten inexperienced PIs, but this is safe as banks now - huge cash balances cash generative - no hostile bid is even possible with the II holders in CPI

But good luck to you - guessing you got your price for your short but now looking for a little lower to buy in to trade - hope you get it cos your and my orders at 33p will be filled and we will both be very happy!

I now think CPI will take longer than that to get to 120p - maybe July 2022 unless a new II comes in?

RMM could get there on news of LD - Im meeting Tim first week of August in New Brunswick. Expecting a deal on LD Q3

2021 with 225M profit on Continued Operations does that - cash mountain and growing with deals making 11 times multiples

Turnaround being smashed and thats why someone this last 10 days has spent 3M quid on CPI shares

NO - its not a load of 2k sales

The whole thing is that rather than spend an absolute fortune changing ESS software, they took a brand new look with all of the knowledge of the sector and built new - whilst flipping for nearly 1/2 Billion quid the thing they didnt want that was losing credibility as a product and losing clients

Nobody is saying its a short term cash cow or anything like it - its the fact that they have back doored a great new product and still got 450M cash for the old crock of 5***

Nobody said its a pillar of profit - what Eats has discovered is a 50M turnover business unit that can be directly rolled out in the ESS space that we had nearly 1/2 Billion for

50M turnover pre ESS sale isnt an insignificant post in the ground upon which to build

So are you are saying that CPI have a business unit with a bettered software solution available than ESS, but flipped ESS for nearly 450M quid and will now go into that same market as competition?

Be interesting to know how long any non compete will be for, but the criticism of ESS was the poor outdated software.

Great idea, rather than overhaul ESS software, take the knowledge and build a new platform and get close to half Billion for the old !

Will be interesting to see how this has grown in 2021 and if it gets much space in the H1 results

Morning all from sunny & hot Canada

So again yesterday Buys were way higher than sells - see now Buys are 1.6M v 600k sells

MMs continue to lose money as they try to frighten more to sell

They are unable to cover those buys for the last 10 days so keep dropping it - sell volume is now tiny so to cover the shares they have sold that they didnt have, they will at some point have to take the price up - when they equal out their short this will be the point they will let it find its own level - probably low 40s in the short term

dont work against the market - work with it - the rise will come soon enough - and when it jumps its likely to be a few days of significant rises before H1 Results are announced

Day after day of Buys being significantly higher than sells - and someone has spent approx #M quid in last 10 days buying from 40p down to 35p - they know the value of this company now

The next month is big for CPI - RNS saying all is good and JL walking around telling all interviewers that he is excited - someone buying 3M quid of shares

So happy to be holding CPI
