Stonk, main reason why I was asking is that I'd guess a CFD or spread bet means the trading company has to pay out on profits whereas on a share deal they are just acting as the broker, so no risk. I was just trying to work out why HL have this new found concern about being over exposed; I don't expect it's because they have become all caring.

Agree a spread bet is a gamble, a CFD is but to a lesser extent; you are simply leveraging your trade which if it goes tits up could see the broker chasing you for money. Now not the case with IG who have basically made sure there's enough in folks' accounts to cover them. It's basically turned a CFD into a share deal. Annoying when they charge more for the CFDs.

I'm hoping they get it stuck up em with an RNS today or tomorrow before 3pm. It's the least they deserve.

Plus I always think are a bit liberal with their buy / sell prices. BID currently showing as 24.49 but you can see sells going through higher than that.

It is a joke. I have contacted them four times to confirm assurance that I have sufficient funds to be ok for 3pm tomorrow.

They have confirmed I have but I don't trust the fookers. Especially if a 4.30 RNS drops in on Friday.

I'd take that. Special divi, and some chips still on the table. Especially if the DFS is good.

Lancerman (firstly apologies for doubting your support of the share a week or so ago, and it's nice to see you have been a bit more tolerant of folks recently). Good points, although we don't what is covered by the NDA, possibly it could have been specified that certain things can be revealed if no deal. Anyway, agreed I doubt it will come to that and also agree with your earlier point that a quid a share would mean the BOD has swam The Channel if we get that. GL and GLA.

Agree. It would be unprofessional. However, it is probably coincidence or hopefully excitement.

If no deal then I'd expect an RNS to tell us the rejected non binding offers. If they say we turned down a quid a share, I can see a big rise from here.

If that's the case we'll find out tomorrow morning.

Thought that myself TheBasher. I know the FSP and the IG thing are totally unrelated but it would be just my luck to be out of the market during a switch from CFD to a share deal when the magic red dot appears. :-)

For balance. They probably also don't like the idea of paying out a fortune if this and other shares which are getting the same treatment go up massively in value.

It's a 25% trade on IG. So you have to basically ensure that you 4 x whatever your margin is quoted at on 26 Feb at 3pm. If you don't have sufficient margin in on Friday they will close your trade.

If you have sufficient margin then you can keep the trade going to end of March (can't remember the precise date) at which point it will be closed.

They are basically making it like a share deal, presumably it's easier for them to get money if it's there than asking for money owed from over leveraged clients.

I will add that's not a deramp but the share price is dropping and to deny this would be a tad 'Comical Ali'.

If you want a share price which is a bit more titillating, there's someone around here who will tell you it's going to be 50 quid. Apparently doesn't charge for that either.

Mike. Monty has basically knocked 3 quid off his initial valuation or by the earlier actually telling you the sale price is pretty much what the share price is now. He toted £3.50 a share for ages, so it's not a particularly real conversation with him.

I know Mac which is why I posted my opinion, however contrary it is to general consensus.

I just think steel balls are required in untimely situations like this. I would imagine the BOD think along those lines and business men like GF probably had some pretty tough conkers to get where he got.

People are talking about buying 22 shares tomorrow as a mark of respect. Donations to charities etc. Also, I think a thread got deleted which was a tad gushy. Poems and stuff.

Apologies for the generalisation, especially if you knew the guy personally, but if not why do you feel you have to show any more respect than the 30 people who have died while I typed this?

I didn't know the bloke so other than knowing his friends and family will be hurting, which is always sad to know other people are going through that, his passing is just another death.

Why do you have respect for this man's death over anyone else's you don't know, that you feel the need to acknowledge it more so than the others who have died?

The only thing I now know about the fella is that he was a business man, and I'm damn sure he wouldn't want the mark of respect being the share price being 22p tomorrow. That sort of situation doesn't appear to be what he worked for. Men who get involved in businesses like this want to see a 22 bagger, not 22 shares being bought in their honour.

Don't know the bloke but if was him and been involved in creating a success like he has, I'd want it to continue whilst I looked at it from above.

Firstly. Once again condelences to the family and friends of Gary Fitzgerald. As I said before it's always sad to hear of somebody's passing. His family and friends will be beside themselves and rightly so.

But can anybody on here share an anecdote about their time with him? I think I know the answer. Nobody had mentioned him in any posts until now.

It's all a bit weird to me; when people want to emerse themselves in other people's grief.

A previous work colleague of mine passed away two weeks ago, covid.. His parents died two weeks before, same thing. The work I was involved in saw me work with many different people over short periods of time but it was easy to get close to folks I liked. I went on my friend's leaving meal and I can honestly say he was one of the nicest people you could ever meet however life sometimes means that you don't have time to keep in touch. We didn't, he's dead. I wish I had.

Now, I contemplated contacting his family but they've got enough on and they don't know me so I've chatted to my missus and family about him and remembered him that way. Couple of quiet contemplations about my friend and a satisfying conclusion that where he has gone will be a good place. That's it, and I actually knew the bloke.

All that I've heard tonight is a bit strange. Like some bizzare Princess Diana thing.

None of you (apologies and condolences to anyone who did) knew the man and if his family are anything like mine they'd be reading the condolences book and thinking, 'nice message but who on earth are they?`.

Please have a bit of perspective on things and have some actual proper respect. Stop concerning yourselves with other people's business and most of all grief. Faceless message board faux grief means nothing. Get over yourselves.
