It would require approximately quadrupling the amount of energy storage such as batteries connected to the grid, to help balance out the irregular power supply from renewables and to provide back-up if a large power plant fails, he said.

National Grid estimates it would need about 1.3GW of energy storage, equivalent to the Sizewell nuclear plant, to safely operate an electricity system with net zero carbon emissions.

What a fantastic overview of what is going down here the scale is incredible if you are in any doubt about your investment in BMN just have a listen. We have a front seat in the biggest energy revolution the world has ever seen which for the first time will include everyone in every country. Well I confess I'm struggling to understand what's going down here it doesn't stack up this carnage/correction is brutal to the extreme. One thought that has occurred to me is it possible the sell off is being orchestrated to redress the imbalance between PI and Institutional holdings. I have thought for some time the market is not overly impressed there is such a large amount of stock held by PIs in what could be the share of the century. At some point PIs need to move over, be forced out to allow them in, probably talking out the rear end but it's just a thought.

Anyone got any idea on timescale is it in planning or execution stage

BMN - I cannot think of any other company that is so shielded by economic gyrations on the one hand we make loads of money when vanadium price is high then conversely make batteries more affordable when the price is low. This current market although hurting us atm in reality is a shot in the arm for the budding battery division. All the wannabies that are/were popping out the woodwork will be having a tough time now raising finance that can only make us stronger over time.

The project is on track and being executed very well there are others out there that would bite their hand off to be in this position. It's a good project that unfortunately is being dwarfed by the vanadium story. If you compare to SXX Lemur are in just as strong a position without the massive funding requirements

On the plus side, Open cast mine, Power plant on site, Finance coming together, Chinese on board, Captive consumers with nowhere else to go what's not to like.

Downside doesn't sit alongside BMN green agenda, currently no value being added however all that could change in an instant when all the ducks are lined up.
