Renewable energy will be world's main power source by 2040, says BP

Having posted this earlier today then watched Fortune my mind went into overdrive. It is now Inconceivable that the likes of BP Total etc are going to sit there and let an opportunity like this pass them by. At the point BE launch and stamp their nameplate over the renewable energy sector, suitors will be lining up. What it will look like I have no idea ideally we would still control the main assets whilst benefiting from the clout of a major player, one things for certain we will not be languishing on Aim and all the antics that go with it.

Renewable energy sources will be the world’s main source of power within two decades and are establishing a foothold in the global energy system faster than any fuel in history, according to BP.

The UK-based oil company said wind, solar and other renewables will account for about 30% of the world’s electricity supplies by 2040, up from 25% in BP’s 2040 estimates last year, and about 10% today.

In regions such as Europe, the figure will be as high as 50% by 2040. The speed of growth was without parallel, the company said in its annual energy outlook.

I cannot believe i have just read this statement on another board dumbfounded doesn't even cut it

Bushveld are good company with decent prospects but they are behind the curve compared to RED IMHO. Thats not to say they won't sell flow machines anymore than RED won't sell flow machines because they don't have a vanadium miner behind them.

Scott mc gregor of red t fame suggests the price of vanadium will plumit which it has by 30% over the last few months hence the sp kicking to bmn. Great for red t that they can now finally source cheap as chips vanadium not so great for bmn as a miner and supplier.

New capacity due to be installed this year

Barcelona — Spanish solar group Solaria Energia y Medio Ambiente announced late Tuesday after the close that it has obtained financing of Eur125 million ($142 million), meaning it can go ahead with plans to install 250 MW of new capacity this year.

When SP angel let the cat out the bag about the battery they said the trial was into it's 10th day should that have read commissioning and that means filling and charging only until all the electrolyte is in balance, or has there been output functionality testing undertaken. at the same time. Might be a dumb question but I don't know how many separate holding tanks there are, just curious
