If memory serves me correctly i think TM said last update he had fixed energy prices for the next couple of years? correct me if i'm wrong. Not his biggest fan but a very smart move given the current climate.
Jon i admire your enthusiasm but your beginning to make me miss Dogger and Clifford :-)
Your not wrong mate, be as well putting Diane Abbot in charge :-(
Spot on mate, i'll be looking to the US. Unfortunately nursing a few big losses so have to wait it out :-( Good luck
Down 50% but will hold till results. Decent company used them in the past but obviously way over valued on IPO. PIs getting taken for a ride. 50K volume and share tanks 11%. Down 21% this month 86% in last 12 months. No wonder the LSE has lost its appeal. Wouldn't surprise me if this was taken back private either. Buy back for a song and relist a few years later. Jackpot
Going under ? guess that's why the directors bought 500k in shares the other month!
Flat, volumes should pick up mid sept, Also depends on what these clowns that are supposed to be running the country are planning to do, ramblings of a 5% vat cut won't scratch the surface. GLA
Appreciate other views always good to have different opinions. One thing is 100% sure, venues offering sports are 10 times busier on a big match day than ones that don't. How do i know? ?Been a Cabbie for 20 years i know where the work is. GLA
DRB fair comment mate, i agree it wont happen overnight but it will happen. Its the only way sports can progress. PL is a billion £ industry. Watching footy in your living room is all very well but you can't beat the atmosphere of a big venue.
Taking your missus and kids to watch Chelsea Arsenal Man u etc is a expensive day out. A local venue/boozer is a good day out at a fraction of the cost.
I could have a few beers , feed the kids, couple of glasses of vino for the wife, enjoy the game and crack for £60- £80 at my local spoons. If only spoons done footy! Cheap day out ,happy days:-)
Christ you must be a Dinosaur! didn't you watch the ladies euros? More and more Families going to venues to watch matches.
Football hooligans generally go to matches, not sit in spoons, and its just a few hoodies who watched too much football factory living in the past.
Sport in UK is changing rapidly especially football, yes you will always get the odd idiot but thats same in every Town centre across the country fri/sat night.
Super bowl is one of the US biggest events, its a family day out. Our national game is heading that way gone, are the days when a load of yobbos turn up just to have a row. GLA
Spot on Jing got to move with the times. My local landlord has sky, bt sports, Its average fiver a pint but on a decent Premier match the punters are in and its packed. The footy costs him a packet but he reckons pays for itself and more. I've not been in any spoons that have live big screen footy on, missing a big earner. Cheap beer big premises curry and burgers what's not to like...... be interesting to see what they do during the world cup. GLA
Dogger i remember your posts on fxpo, earlier in the year you posted "its all over" then couple of months later £3 by end of year. Does this mean in 2 months from now you'll be posting £30 by end of 22? I think your comments are based on your short/long positions. You can't seriously think your remarks will influence the share price? JP Morgan just built a 6% position maybe they thought your gonna change your mind and go long :-)
I would expect discounters to fair better during leaner times. People still gonna go out, eat drink etc. JDW B&M Primark etc. I can have a Pint a curry with rice poppadums and nan bread for £8 at my local spoons (ok its not high end grub but fills a hole) and it gets me out the house. IMO spoons need sports on tv. World cup, Premier league etc they would be packed out. Thoughts?
Not about share forecasts its all about their own agenda. It amazes me how the share price moves when one of these muppets set price targets..........in May a broker set a price target of £72 on ASOS, its now £7.50 yeah great top marks......bunch of clowns
DND I remember your posts on mccolls......multi bagger etc. Yeah great insight. Crack on with your short position :-)
BDEV -40+% ytd TW- 40+% PSN -48% YTD etc .....Housing shortages across the country can't build them quick enough. You couldn't make it up!
I'm amazed at the drop, bought in at £19 and thought i was getting a bargain! Will top up and happy to hold for the divi even it halves.
I live in Kent, they can't build quick enough, there is a nothing available in my area. TW Barratt Psn etc all new builds snapped up on release. Interest rates will go higher that is inevitable given the historic lows but i can't see any housing crash on the horizon. Supply is a long way from keeping up with demand. imo GLA
Drb these valuations are 20+ years old. Spoons property portfolio ain't been updated for nigh on 20 years.I borrowed the money for my house 25 years ago, its paid now. and cost me 98k similar properties now avg price 350-400k
Published earlier this year in march
" The pub chain has a large property portfolio"
With a market capitalisation of just under £1bn, it may come as a surprise that the company has £1.1bn on its balance sheet of freehold and long leasehold property alone.
Interestingly, the properties have not been revalued since 1999. That suggests Wetherspoon may not be in a hurry to revalue them any time soon. But, given the boom in commercial property prices over the past 20 years, it also makes me wonder whether the real value of the company’s property portfolio is substantially higher than the value at which it is carried on the balance sheet. I'm not a ramper/deramper just go by the maths. GLA
DRB spoons are largely old converted town centre/listed churches ball rooms banks and buildings of historic importance. I've visited numerous spoons over the years and some buildings must be eye watering expensive. Sometime ago the Mail done a article on spoons more unusual properties ,these are impressive, Bath Edinburgh Tunbridge wells London etc........Cine predominately lease out of town premises on retail parks etc big difference?
Stroll on Clifford after reading your comments might as well stay in bed for next 2 years. Your a right ray of sunshine! 18-25 year olds want to dress up and go out that will never change despite the press media and doomsters painting a picture of impending worldwide meltdown. Dogger nice to see you back with your inane drivel based on your reading of fundamentals "ASC will go bust" Wow what insight!
