Hey Olddad 21:08,
Nice to see someone who knows where to be distracted . Just watching the world amble by in a beautiful area of our wonderful GB.
Distraction came from here oldfella: "Sitting outside my tent in the Lake Distract."

Hi JofH 12:59,
So, we as a company are in a similar situation to the Tangiers arrival on the North Slope, that is self funded & JV'd with Burgundy.
Today, I think we are still loyal to Burgundy & we have 4 Projects, all in a healthy state.
We have a willing ally at Inyati, in Dave Wall.
Him being there is no coincidence.
He knows what 88e has in their portfolio & he also has a company that raises funds.
As to which of our projects we Sell or Farmout, I would say we are spoilt for choice.
As I posted a couple of days ago, Umiat & Peregrine could be drilled in the same season with light weight drilling rig 111 & potential start early with Umiat because it is an appraisal only & then move on to step out Merlin & finally drill Harrier as we were hoping to do this year. Light weight drilling is much cheaper & 88e were the 1st company to adopt the practice. Obviously the thing now is regarding Conoco. Are they interested & if so, will they want to wait until we have drilled & confirmed a discovery or are they already convinced?
If they Buy Out Peregrine & Umiat, that leaves us then to Farmout Icewine & get to grips with HRZ & Conventional Charlie etc etc.
Does that seem feasible?

Extract: The April 27 report said these zones “exhibited good shows with potential for pay, subject to results from the testing” it is doing over the next 10 weeks. “An initial mapping exercise has indicated that these zones may be of similar magnitude in terms of volumetric range as the originally targeted primary zones,” 88 Energy added. “Further work is required to confirm this; however, the early work is encouraging.” Testing has begun on sidewall cores, cuttings, mud gas and fluid samples from Merlin 1, with results expected over the next 2-10 weeks.
The operations update also reported that Pantheon’s Talitha A well results on leases adjacent to another 88 Energy North Slope acreage block - Project Icewine - have “positive implications” for Icewine.

The last 18 months have seen a significant increase in interest in the acreage to the west of Project Icewine and on the same latitude, marking a southerly trend in exploration focus. ConocoPhillips acquired 3D seismic in 2018, ~15 miles west of the Project Icewine Western Margin Leases. The Company is also aware of a multi-client 3D seismic acquisition planned immediately to the west of, and adjacent to, the Project Icewine acreage (see image). Additional near term transactional activity is expected associated with the on sale of an option acquired by Oil Search in 2017. This option is due to expire in June 2019 and includes acreage immediately to the south of the Western Blocks (where Winx-1 was recently drilled) and immediately west of Project Icewine (where the multi-client 3D seismic acquisition is planned).
Project Icewine Unconventional- Baker Hughes and the United States Geological Society (USGS) continue to apply advanced evaluation techniques to the HRZ shale play, including additional tests on both core and cuttings obtained from the drilling of the Icewine-1 and Icewine-2 wells.
The Company continues to receive third party interest in the HRZ shale project and anticipates being able to integrate the data from the current evaluation into a data room by mid-2019 in order to commence a formal farm-out process.

Unlocking the HRZ shale, located within Project Icewine, remains a top priority for 88 Energy. Baker Hughes is currently undertaking a comprehensive, ground-floor peer review of data and analysis relating to the HRZ shale. The analysis included the pre-drilling work completed by Burgundy Xploration as well as data obtained from the Icewine-1 and Icewine-2 wells. With the initial review complete, Baker Hughes has recommended several new state-of-the-art lab tests to augment the current body of work. Extract: Honing in on Project Icewine. In the first half of 2019, 88E will employ new age technologies to gain a better understanding of the production prospects of Project Icewine. Prominent oil and gas services company, Baker Hughes (part of the GE group), has been engaged, bringing global experience from both longstanding and burgeoning unconventional plays to provide integrated geological, structural, petrophysical, and geomechanical interpretations for evaluation of the HRZ shale. The initial review is now complete and is consistent with the prior work done. Given the rapid advancement of unconventional assessment technologies over the past several years, Baker Hughes has recommended several new state-of-the-art lab tests to augment the current body of work. From a geological perspective, the main thrust of the work being undertaken is to better understand the producibility of the formation by advanced electron microscope analysis, which will allow for a spatial understanding of landing zones in a horizontal lateral. This work incorporates an integrated producibility, frackability and geohazards model to find optimal placement for a lateral well in addition to a completion and stimulation program.
The important takeaway, though, is that the HRZ shale remains prospective and will continue to be a focus for 88 Energy in order to unlock its considerable value for shareholders. Work currently underway is expected to be complete in the first half of 2019, ahead of commencing farm-out proceedings.

Hi All,
Which major U.S. oil and gas company has numerous EXPLORATION and PRODUCTION assets in Alaska?
ConocoPhillips is Alaska's largest crude OIL PRODUCER AND LARGEST OWNER OF EXPLORATION LEASES, with approximately 1.3 million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2020.
ConocoPhillips is an American multinational corporation engaged in hydrocarbon EXPLORATION . It is based in the Energy Corridor district of Houston, Texas. The company has operations in 17 countries and has production in the ... Approximately 1/3 OF THE COMPANY'S U.S. PRODUCTION IS IN ALASKA.

For me, it has to be Conoco.
They have the production facilities; they have the long reach horizontal drilling technologies & they are right next door, whichever way they look. It has just got to be them.
All IMHO. GLA

Hi Rab, regarding "Umiat, will be highly surprised if they get this drilled before 2023. Looks like they are going further north next year (Harrier) opposed to south." We have to drill or appraise Umiat by August 2022.
Surely, where we are right now , we cannot keep on with 1 drilling per season. You are spot on with Harrier & perhaps a step out drill for Merlin, using the lightweight drilling rig 111 again & perhaps start earlier, maybe early Feb 2022.
I've read recently that Umiat can be serviced by Air. Not sure how much of a "a drilling village" they could fly in or how an appraisal is carried out. Any thoughts on that?
Thinking if they drilled Harrier/Merlin & then shipped the drilling gear to Umiat, not too far away & no ice road required. Or snow road from Umiat ( after doing the appraisal thing there) & up to Peregrine for Harrier/Merlin, driil & step out.
Just thinking out loud
Hopefully guys we will be covered in $$$$$$$'s well before then.

Extract from 22 March Update:
Details
88 Energy is pleased to report that the Merlin-1 surface hole was successfully drilled to 1,512ft as
planned. Surface casing has now been cemented and the blow out preventer system tested. A
formation integrity test (FIT) was successfully undertaken and the rig is now drilling ahead in the
production hole where the primary Nanushuk targets are located. Planned total depth is 6,000’.
Logging while drilling and mudlogging will provide initial indications as to the prospectivity of the well
during this part of the operation, which is expected take three to five days. A sophisticated wireline
logging suite will then be run, including sidewall cores and downhole sampling. Wireline logging is
expected to take five to seven days.
If the results from the wireline logging are encouraging, then the well will be completed with casing
and a flow test conducted.
88 Energy has entered into a share subscription agreement with ELKO International LLC (“ELKO”),
one of the major contractors for the operation. Under the agreement ELKO will be issued 360m shares
at $0.018, which is a 225% premium to the placement undertaken on 12th February 2021. The are no
fees associated with the placement.
Managing Director, Dave Wall, commented: “The endorsement of the project by ELKO as we enter
the critical phase of the drilling is encouraging and will serve to fund the Company’s share of the
recently announced cost overruns.
We wish all our shareholders good fortune over the coming days.”
The issue of the New Ordinary Shares is not subject to shareholder approval as the issuance will fall
within the Company's placement capacity pursuant to ASX Listing Rule 7.1A. A total of 360,000,000
shares will be issued pursuant to Listing Rule 7.1A. The New Ordinary Shares will rank pari passu
with the existing ordinary shares in the Company, with settlement on Monday, 22 March 2021.
They had probably smelt the fumes as the were drilling down to 1500 ft.

Hi Olddad 13:19,
I am not so sure they were offered the shares. I believe, they asked for payment in shares. Could be wrong but I think that's where the strength of the subject of the shares lies, the fact that they requested shares as payment.
I will gladly stand corrected.
