John117 bit of a bargain is an understatement. Something I am perplexed about is a trial that happened last summer 2000 care home patients utilising the Q32 NPT , with Queen Marys , Jo Martin. A contract for care homes never materialised but not because of any issues as we learnt later about the contract utilising the same methodology with the DHSC in Sept.
They obviously didnt want to spend on the care home environment , will not go into all the issues there ! Raise this because the DHSc must have had access to this data before signing the Sept contract. This was nothing new ! Feeling optimistic that GM does indeed have a strong case . Evening Porky , Novacyt never hype anything , not a secret , just release as a done deal. I'm not remotely concerned about S&S because GM wouldn't have told us he is aiming for end of 2nd quarter if he wasn't already certain he had a product fit for release that met all the pre stipulated criteria. I am intrigued to learn who he has partnered with as this may give a clue to future potential tie ups . Most of all feel it would not be in GM's character to announce to the market that the product will be for home use unless it has already been approved. Time will tell and not long to wait . Tick tock.

I have never seen any stats for Novacyts LFT ? Therefore cannot conclude that anything is similar in anyway to any existing test

You will never know because unless over 3% ownership there is no need to declare. 3% is many multiples of 80,000 shares therefore what you are reading is no indication of how many hold over 80, 000 shares. Imo

Hi Harchris , to use the in vogue phrase of being milked , the DHSC issue being resolved favourably allows for a great range of outcomes. Favourably to me would be a repay of up to 50mm and this would rerate. Hopefully no repayment or a compromise with selling a certain amount of kits at around cost so both parties benefit. Hopefully those involved in the arbitration suggest multiple ways of achieving an outcome palatable to both parties. Sometimes better to negotiate and move on. Pleased we are included in the new Frameworks which to me is an indication that this dispute is not beyond remedy without seeking address from the courts.

Steve I am of a totally different opinion. Just because one is not fit for purpose doesn't imply that others aren't. Surely that is obvious to everyone. If innova is exacerbating the spread of covid it is only right that it is fully investigated and if the knock on impact is that people are sceptical about LFT's then so mote it be and im a very bullish NCYT holder.

Read with interest the post from Bh2 about Pzifer CEO's claim about how effective their vaccines are against variants. I am a little perplexed as it didn't offer 100 % protection against the original strain . Read this article last week and would appear to perhaps be somewhat contradictory to the statement made yesterday.

Scrambler if I recall correctly Chile vaccinated approx 95% of those who had a vaccine with Coronavac a vaccine from a Chinese company called Sinovac. Maybe the issues are to do with waning of efficacy or it was low to start with, or simply offers no protection against new strain. In the UK I believe a much higher percentage have been vaccinated with AstraZeneca which offers less protection against contracting vanilla covid then Pzifer , that was the starting point in all data that I have seen.
Astra are working on a booster jab, but now the issue is that the I variant is increasing rapidly whilst a high proportion still only have one vaccine and the impact of that will he waning with each passing month. So although a high percentage have some level of protection the higher transmission rates of some of the new variants could mean we see our NHS overwhelmed again in the not to distant future.
