Ballard finished last year by selling 177 units to the Telecoms sector in Q4, for the full year 2013 they sold 796 units up from a total of 399 units in 2012 …….. That’s the market the ACTA Power is targeting, it is still new market for Fuel Cells and Hydrogen but it is growing and IF Acta can get a first decent order it will transform the company, second half of this year will be telling. IMO

Hi euclid55 ......... IKA are no competition for ACTA for two reasons, the first is they don’t actually build and sell an end product such as an Electrolyser (unless I’ve missed it!) and their product that “promises” to be 70% cheaper than PEM technology is actually for building Fuel Cells not Electrolysers ……….. at the moment ACTA have the only none PEM Electrolyser on the market that works like a PEM but is about 70% cheaper because of the Patented Alkaline Technology

The reason Acta went down the line (change of business direction) of being a supplier of the Acta Power (Fuel Cell and Hydrogen generator combined) was because those companies that are buying the Electrolyser from Acta seem to be way to slow in delivering what they promise, hence Acta took the bull by the horns and are now marketing the Acta Power. They only launched the unit 10 months ago have already got it into several trials (which is more than their partners combined!!) which is impressive. What Acta have is the only small scale Hydrogen Generator that is cheap enough to make it viable to combine with a Fuel Cell and go head to head with the overall cost of diesel generators (generator + fuel + maintenance etc.)……….. there is nothing else on the market that competes on price!! But yes they do need an order of substance, once/if it arrives then little old Acta will become a serious player in this market.

Actually I’ve only had a quick scan of the results and there looks at least initially to be a very nice turnaround prospect here ……. 85% recurring revenue and EBITDA neutral since Sept is something that I would think the new CEO will like as his starting base on the 3rd March Something for the weekend!

Acta emailed me yesterday about them being at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this month exhibiting the new upgraded version of their Acta Power plus the launch of the Acta Power based on the new Relion deal Anyway if you sign up to the Newsletter you should get emailed the same info and in there is a very nice picture of an ACTA Power working at a Telecoms base station somewhere in the world …….. hopefully just one of soon to be very many over the coming years!! Ballard!! ………… what’s the betting that because of the Relion deal, sooner or later Acta’s Electrolyser will actually find itself in Ballards very own Direct Hydrogen unit!!

Ian, I’d echo shan and upside, everything looks solid. I did note that they expect 2013 Revenue to be about $7.9m which is growth from 2012 of about 16% and they are forecasting profit growth of 20% which would suggest a P/E of about 14 at today’s share price. One thing here though and this is from memory from when riddler first mentioned SIM ……… they pay no TAX at the moment and it’s explained in the notes in the F/Y financials, from memory I think it’s something to do with choices on whether to choose a tax holiday and receive no grant help, or receive help in the form of grants but then have to pay tax on profits in Israel, it would worth looking into to see when the holiday period ends.

Hi Upside I’m not in here (although I did trade it after the results), just thought I’d pop some positive figures up and at least one forecast for possible SP growth in last night’s post ……… along with great cash flow growth the revenue did see a 50%+ increase from 2012 to 2013 and they seem fairly bullish on the 2014 growth ………. So looking to the future it would seem growth is continuing which I suspect is why those invested are invested and positive news on this will probably or should be the catalyst for SP growth. They took a none cash hit on last year’s income statement so they showed a loss, but as we know they did actually generate free cash which is why it’s important to not only look at the income statement but to look at it with the Balance and Cash Flow sheets combined (I know you do that), so when they say the adjusted and diluted EPS was 1p it’s easy to see that that figure stacks up ………. Which would put the share on a P/E of as near as damn it 5, which does seem cheap for a company that has seen compounded sale growth over the last 3 years of 25% and forecast to continue the revenue/sales growth, a P/E of 10 wouldn’t be over doing it, which is 100%+ upside from here. The loans and Director payment deferrals you could take as a positive or a negative …….. on the positive side they are happy enough with what’s happening to do this in the knowledge that they will see a return in the future based on positive progress (my guess is it would be paid by issuing shares sometime in the future) The negative is as you have posted Anyway that’s my take looking at it with a positive slant ………. A few positives, shan will like this FCF has been picking up since 2012/2013 ……… £100k FCF in 2012 to almost £500k FCF in 2013 (1.49p per share) that’s great growth in free cash and Stockopedia’s default setting for DFC has an implied SP of 9.36p which implies PIP is cheap on a cash flow basis provided it keeps growing Price to free cash flow 3.18 ……. Very cheap Price to sales .31 ……. Very cheap EV to EBITDA 4.44 …….. Very cheap

A fund showed their hand in the selling stakes, but there has been some big volume today and the price is staying steady!! maybe some bigger positions being taking, one thing is for sure if this new contract comes off then MIRA is going to be awash with subscriber cash over the next few years (based on what they have said about the contract) which might explain the interest as there will probably be plenty of returns in the form of divi's coming back to shareholders!!

The bottom line is companies cannot generate Hydrogen onsite to power 1kw to 4 kw systems at a price that is commercially viable with anything other than what ACTA have, that’s why the smaller ITM product range of PEM electrolysers has never been viable (too expensive, they are just show pieces and have never sold) What Acta have is a unique product and although it’s taking time to get into the position they are now in I think they are on the verge of a breakout (for the business), the Telecoms sector is picking up momentum with regards back-up power using Fuel Cells and Acta find themselves at the heart of it with connections to players large and small

That deal says to me that Acta's unique electrolyser is starting to be taken really seriously .......... as they say they are connected to most of the big players in the F Cell sector now ........... probably one of the best bits of news to date, IMO

Hopefully it’s just a matter of time before the Telecom orders start coming in for ACTA because sales in general to Telecoms are picking up ……….
