Curious to see that some people keep saying that the longer it take to provide a valuation, must mean the value is much higher than first speculated. It is also possible, that during the cleaning, sorting, grading etc process, they have been surprised at a lower average grade of diamond than was at first hoped for. The time delay could be that they are trying to find the appropriate wording for an RNS, that states a lower valuation, which doesn't crash the SP.

How would they sort out the diamonds for 'size and colour etc' if not looking at the stones one by one?

There are some very ambitious valuations being touted on here. You will only know the actual value once they are sold and AP notifies the market.

Looks like the 500k was a desperate last resort to keep the company a going concern for the interim. No other funding available from anywhere. And no income from any stream.

AP wants his loan back, and he can take advantage of the raised SP to get a placing away. Also, £400k won't last long on operating bills.

Vast has bills to pay, in an orderly manner, to satisfy the court order. Vast does not have sufficient income from all of its incomes streams to do this, nor is any funding sorted, so AP has had to prop the company up with a loan. Desperate times.
