No chuckles, but then I'm not going for a job interview, I'm opining on what 'the coming weeks' could validly mean in the context of the current discussion. However, if in a job interview, they said "you will hear in the coming weeks" I would tell them that I am also looking at other opportunities/offers (which is normally the case when I'm looking for new contracts) and ask if they could be more specific.

For me, coming weeks can be as long as 6-8 weeks. (the upper limit somewhat pushing it tbf). But as you say the alternative is "coming months" which, until month can be pluralised, isn't accurate. Jmho

An investment is simply putting money into a scheme with the aim (no pun intended) of making a profit. unless you can show that people don't intend to make a profit here, then your point is nonsense. If you want to say that it's MORE of a gamble than other investments, fair play, but recognise that it is not an either/or scenario.
