The intent of the post (which I thought was clear, evidently not) was not whether or not I wanted a Buyout (which I don't) but rather on what the LIKELIHOOD of a (relatively soon) buyout (partial or full) would be. My point being that it is unlikely (a good thing imo) due to the finance arrangements between the two companies. I don't see how that's a nonsense thread.

A thought occurs (it happens rarely, hence my excitement when one does). The fact that Newcrest and GGP have arranged 50m in funding surely gives strong indication that it is highly unlikely that NCM are going to look to buy GGP. Why lend your target money to strengthen their position if you plan on a takeover? Why take out a loan at LIBOR +8% if you have any intention of accepting any kind of offer?

Sorry, no formatting on that table, there are 3 columns,
1 Day of the week for the RNS, Total count of RNSs released on that Day of the week, Count of RNSs containing either the word Update OR Results.

Whilst Thursday appears to have more "Results/Update" based RNSs (obviously a VERY loose way of identifying Update RNSs, but I'm not going to trawl through them all individually :) ), I don't think that the numbers show enough to infer any significant pattern.

Hi Velo, what metrics are you using to identify that GGP is overbought? Adding some figures/facts to your post may lend it weight, rather than looking at historic dips and stating that GGP was, at that point, overbought. If you can back up your assertions with data, people may take more notice.

Not to say that it wasn't a monster buy! Just the value seems to have been rounded off.

Looks like a bit of rounding up going on there.
