George Frangeskides, Chairman at ALBA, explains why the Pilbara Lithium option ‘was too good to miss’. Watch the video here.
No point selling now, the interactive investor trading fee is worth nearly as much as my holding now
This will soon hit £3 like we thought it could last year, just need to have patience.
Mcap that is, not SP.
Yup, one for the bottom drawer for a couple of years. If they can keep all that £100m, morals aside, then buying a / several businesses that fits in vertically with a growing 5-7% profit ratio to acquisition value would be excellent business, so £100m buying an extra £7m profit pa. Whether they're capable of negotiating value we'll perhaps find out. If they can't outgun dhsc lawyers they'll have their pants pulled down in corporate world now that their war chest is public knowledge.
Wow, absolutely shocking. I'm a shareholder, but with the corruption Avacta have had to fight against the DHSC and chinese back handers, if only part of this article is true I hope nova are crucified, absolutely disgusting, utterly shameful. I hope they use the £100m cash balance to make things right, I'll be remaining a shareholder to hold them to account.
Absolutely crazy mental mcap.
95.8m revenue, of which £13m is none covid. Approx 40% EBITA so over £5m profit a year.
Apply a typical ratio for the sector of 15x, and thats £75m, thats if covid disappeared over night and one bought or performed another PCR test in the world. Add on our £100m cash, and thats £175m.
Absolutely crazy, i hope it still this price come 6th april
I might need a placing soon. This share has cost me near £500. That's a bottle of glenfarclas 30 year old. This goes any lower I'll end up with a bottle of bells.
Feel sorry for those that took this share seriously. Knew it was a huge punt at 50p, thought it might have bought me a nice whisky for queens jubilee :D
Covid could be approaching end game, still no acquisitions, still no post covid plan. Sure testing will still be required in clinical settings, great for Abbott, but nova need a plan b. SP has never recovered since GM said unable to predict revenues next year, let's hope they don't repeat that ever again.
If Dave is taking this long to get to know the business maybe they've chosen the wrong man and should have promoted from within.
If not all anti bodies are created equally, presumably they'll need to try a selection to see which work with our test, build a batch of tests each time, get them lab tested internally, then get them independently tested before giving go ahead to whatevers left of Abingdon to get producing. Even if they strike gold first time, I can't see this process being completed in 3 weeks. I think even 3 months is optimistic going on past experience.
Would love it to be a quick turnaround, but all my optimism has just been destroyed. Here's hoping some excellent ava news in next month or two will get us back towards a quid. Would be nice for just one of their projects to turn out OK, I'm not asking for much.
Neale Harvey just been on, name dropped omega a few times and mologic
Maybe govt asked Al back in Oct 2020 when they met with nova, oxford nano, lumi and a few others if they thought TT with abingdon would be completed before 2022, and Al laughed and said "no chance, but soon though".
I'm fed up of it all now, cant even be arsed to listen in, forget LFT for UK, just been a waste of time and money, and a huge distraction, theres zero chance Avacta will be used in UK. Maybe medusa will turn out to not be complete useless t0ssers after all and bring in some revenue from EU to at least cover what was spent on development, but with the influence China has who knows.
AVA is going to be the main SP driver this year, and hopefully some juicy affimer licencing deals

I wouldn't put too much hope on being a 'clinical' company to propel the SP.
Avacta were £2.50+ when still in 'pre clinical' phase, it now bounces between £1.10 and £1.20 several months in to phase 1 clinical trials, which have since expanded, on a potential game changing drug, where good news is almost expected rather than hoped for.
12-24 months from now though will see the sp of both companies multiples of where they are now, which is fine for me
Next RNS to be a placing then, given HUA seems unlikely this winter (for any British LFT). Best off doing it now in the 20's with a 25% discount rather than 10's.
Wow, so Colin 'assumed' he could use the prepayment funds to upgrade omegas facilities. Why didn't he ask them?! Comical incompetence, thank fook I only put £500 here at 50p, that'll be worth £50 in a few weeks. Who's gonna be down the job centre first, Colin or BoJo?
Will someone check on BigJock and MerchantBanker, gonna be a shoite Christmas for them.
Shame its 'may require', not 'will require', doesn't sound like significant concrete orders yet, initial order seems to be fewer than 1m otherwise it will have been worded differently. I think current production capacity is measured in thousands which is why this 'significant' order is going to abdx (but less than 1m / month required). HUA could change all this, not that I'm ever expecting HUA in UK. Was hoping we wouldn't have to rely on medusa to make the LFT a success but that's the twats in govt for you.
Ffs I sound like NDN. Apologies. Still, possibly 2 months or less for some initial data on ava which could be game changing.
And aren't they going to start charging western countries soon? Try out the 1st gen vaccines at cost, get a free clinical trial, develop a far more advanced version that can work against future strains and charge a fortune for it. Home testing could well end up being a cheaper method of containing the virus for us plebs
Odx situation showing how crazy our valuation is. I had a tiny punt there on the hope of a govt contract, have written that off now.
I agree, I think people are looking at likes of gdr, brh, odx all pumped on hype and now wanting something stable. Until HUA comes in for avacta and odx the short term potential Is here, a positive resolution of dispute could see the SP double from here. I'm of the opinion HUA will not be granted until 2022, and resolution could well happen in December.
