You're clearly quite happy then with the endless pro russian propaganda. There is one reason and one reason only that Polymetal, Evraz and others are in this situation, least you forget, (as you seem to have), russia's murderous invasion of Ukraine, a soverign nation. When that ends, the rebuilding, most importantly of lives and livelihoods, and then of stock prices can begin.

That only goes so far. If into Poly at sub £3, with the dramatically shrinking capital gains tax allowance in the U.K. (as it halves in 2023-4 and I think halves again to £3000 in 2024-5). The sale of 1000 shares at a price of £6 will use up that allowance. Everyone is in a differerent position, (with other income etc) but much depends on wrapper status going forward as far as I can see. With no wrapper protection, a sale of 10k shares in 2024 at £6 means a big tax bill for many. It may be better just to jump ship and move the investment into a qualifying stock whilst the trade is still possible, (I would imagine that accounts in wrappers would be liquidated by brokers at any change point, and that the money would remain inside the wrapper, unless I am mistaken). Those wishing to continue holding Poly (for the divi's possibly), would I suppose, have to repurchase on the new exchange). I see this as a potential cause of much volatility in the price at that time. This may all become even more important in the case of larger sales, forced due to personnal circumstances. As for myself, any removal from tax protection makes a Poly investment far less attractve. If I am wrong in any of my assumptions/calculations please let me know.

I have seen pre and post market trading for the public on Nasdaq but unless I am mistaken never on LSE. (I assume that the big traders wish to keep this time all to themselves).

You seem to think that multi billion dollar, multi national companies are run on a day to day basis, and that there is no such thing as strategic and future planning. Within day traders minds that may be the case. But in the world of grown ups these things are happening all the time.
In just the same way that the contracts governing POG’s loans were constructed so that in a default condition, the lender would not only be largely protected, but also get a great company at a tiny fraction of it’s true value. That’s called thing ahead.
I would be surprised if other cash rich companies were not doing this for all presently stressed operations in the same field of business. That is not to say it’s going to happen imminently, or will in fact at any time. Just that it’s not impossible. This is no doubt much too nuanced a concept for you.

At the very least, it will in my view, if a bid materialises, underscore some level of value to any similar mining business. Based on metrics such as production levels, cost of production, and future earnings etc. It could also point to a coalescing of the industry into fewer hands. Others may not want to be left out.
