IF - Newcrest wanted to sell their share of Havieron /and Telfer-could it be a Fortescue/Andrew Forrest/Greatland Gold development and become the first ever green energy run mining project in Australia with support from the WA Government /National Government - it could be a flagship green energy project with perhaps a 50yr life span -and such a learning curve for Australian green energy mining projects -I will now stop eating magic mushrooms ! Thank you so much for the answer. You have certainly educated me and I expect a few others- There is a lot of anticipation and expectation in the air and some really exciting times ahead with major developments possible ,and it is only Jan 3rd .
Also the tone on this board this year has been exemplary
Thank you Bamps once again ATB Jonno
Happy New Year All
Bamps I dont know if this is a stupid question but could Telfer be powered by Green Hydrogen and is this the reason for Andrew Forrest's involvement and Elizabeth Gaines remaining as Fortescue's global ambassador for green hydrogen ,and yet coming to the GGP board.WA government is keen for WA to produce /store /export green hydrogen - could the development of Havieron/use of telfer become a well supported prototype for green energy powered mining -with perhaps significant grants to support this

Fortescue and ATCO australia have just opened the first green hydrogrn refuelling station in Perth (WA!) .Interesting comments about it and green energy future by Andrew Forrest "Just as Fortescue is committed to stepping beyond fossil fuels to achieve real zero operational emmisions by 2030".The WA government has been supportive in this venture ATB Jonno
Good Morning
Newcrest Capitalization 19 billion AUD approx ,Fortescue 65 billion AUD
Key players at Fortescue involved with GGP
I wonder if Newcrest is worried about being taken over
Could Havieron be MR Forrest's Flagship for Green Energy development
just some musings on a cold morning ATB Jonno

I agree with a lot of what you say -but I remember in 4hrs one evening ,in the the Thatcher era ,interest rates went up 4% -I agree the rates this time round have gone up proportionately much more in the last year ATB Jonno

I totally concur -Sadly one day people may realize we need to get even the real basics right /(what the individual needs to survive ie oxygen, food ,water ,shelter (include heating) ,health right before we sort much else - and we havent done too well on these so far
The "Can" has been well and truly kicked down the road especially for example with house purchase - v low interest rates, bank of any relative you can think of, 40yr mortgages, both halves in a couple having to work -all to maintain house prices at an artifical high .I too hope that what we have invested in comes good.I personally believe it will but it will take time .Enough of my ranting too ATB Jonno

I'm have had had similar thoughts ,but I cant put the jigsaw pieces together to make a picture- Newcrest is worth 16billion dollars approx ,fortescue 32 billion.Recently GGP appointed an ex Fortescue CEO to its board .Andrew Forrest non exec chairman of Fortescue (WA's richest business man) is investing heavily in green/renewable energy
Did SD appt Elizabeth Gaines (ex CEO) to GGP board to have some options if things turned difficult with Newcrest .
Newcrest have invested a lot of time/effort and money in Havieron and things seem to be moving forward at breakneck speed in a positive way but it is always nice to have a good options if you are GGP ATB Jonno
There has been a U turn and there will be no medal competitions in e-sports at the next Commonwealth Games in Australia.Disappointing as they were trialled at the games in Birmingham this year .However e sports are incredibly popular in China/Asia ,USA and Scandanavia .I dont know how this will affect Guild ,if at all ATB Jonno

What about Fortescue market cap 32 billion and an ex CEO being appointed to Greatland Board taking over Newcrest Market cap 16billion or making an offer for Havieron or the other 70% plus Telfer -just Saturday lunchtime (sober ) musings
