RE: (Mis) interpretation20 Apr 2019 17:21
The general consensus seems to be that news one way or another is expected before the end of April as that is what the company intimated on March 12th, it is correct that they did not promise or guarantee it but obviously as soon as they give their own unsolicited, self imposed mentioning of dates then naturally investors will cling to those dates most probably because we have been starved of positive news that will get the sp moving for a very long time.
The following is from the March 12th RNS:
"The Company is working towards obtaining firm commitments for the Alternative Proposal and its additional financing requirements before the end of April 2019. The Alternative Proposal is subject to the finalisation of the Financial Institution's due diligence and internal approvals.
Further announcements will be made in due course."
Now, they could have left out the words "before the end of April 2019" couldn't they? and just had the line "Further announcements will be made in due course." in it's place but they obviously felt that they would be in a position to at least update shareholders at some point before the end of April, otherwise what's the point of even mentioning specific timescales when they could have just left it like they had before when they stated something like they would be updating on finance 'as soon as possible' which is nebulous, yet on the March 12th update they clearly felt confident enough to effectively make a rod for their own back as if they don't release any update before the end of this month then rightly or wrongly the 'they are running out of money' narrative will have a detrimental impact on the sp in my opinion which obviously genuine investors here really don't want to see, obviously derampers would love to see it so lets hope they don't get what they want and the company give clarity with regards to the financing so we can all move on and concentrate on major torp orders, construction progression ahead of schedule and finally more positive national exposure.
I rarely quote the Fool bit in the article today it states:
"So what’s the latest news and why does it make me a bit twitchy? The answer to both of those is that there isn’t any, and we’re getting very close to the firm’s target of the end of April for securing and announcing a deal.
The last we heard was that there’s an alternative financing proposal on the table, but that was more than a month ago and the newswires have since gone silent. And the more we don’t hear anything, the more investors will fear the worst."
I understand that the whole point of the MF is to be extreme in how they depict situations that companys are in but it seems that rightly or wrongly the general feeling is that people are expecting an update before the end of this Month, possibly it would have been better if the hadn't even mentioned the end of April. Let me know if I have misinterpreted the 12th March RNS.
