From personal experience in the past, think it was people setting stop losses to close to ask price, and MM moving in and doing a bit of hoovering to get more shares.
Don't set stop losses too close, even though understandable in this volatile scenario

BB's are all full of 'sound bite' sized comments. You have to try and pick out the guys who give useful information from those who just like seeing their comments in print.
