Folks, but I only log in here once a day at the moment, and got 'stung' by a Tiger. Things quite rightly have moved on a bit!

Point is TT, if you think for one minute enough power could be reliably and continuously produced from renewables to power the world's needs then I'm afraid THAT is laughable!
Of course we need to continue developing and investing in renewable energy sources but YOU'll never see the day that renewables 100% powers the world. (not unless, that is, you want to walk out of your door and bang into a wind turbine or clamber over the solar panel farms that have taken over the town centre and available parkland.
And also don't forget when you read all the "scientific" green, that the world's energy requirements are growing even faster than 'science' can keep up.
FACT is the world needs a MIX of energy production, and yes renewables form an ever growing part of that, which let's face it is why we're all on this BB!

Going back to the 1970's studies were done. One of the most prominent concluded that you could shore up the whole of the eastern seaboard of the United States with a form of renewable wave generated power provision and it would supply only the needs of 1 city eg Chicago!
100% or even anywhere near that renewable energy provision is simply goobblydegook. Renewables main use will always be back up of power generation by nuclear/gas etc., and will have to form only a part of energy requirements for an ever growing need and the idea that it is even remotely possible is simply political pandering to the 'green' lobby.

Can anyone explain what latest RNS holding from Blackrock means. I can't make heads nor tails of these 'Forms'.
Have Blackrock lent out some shares (presumably for shorting purposes)?, which would seem strange considering the recent contract win.

Think what I’m trying to get at is-we don’t know (do we?) at what price BR sold. Perhaps they didn’t do the dumping but a new or existing shorter did.
Quite why BR would want to see their holding fall in value by lending out I don’t know - Feasible anyone?? (OR poppycock!)

If as TR-1 states “lending” could this mean this mean that a shorter has taken a lump of shares and sold down to increase their short?

Must admit to having been extremely LUCKY so far with PFC - and it is pure luck. Sold on Aug 2016 at 870p, can't even remember why now, and then bought back in big time at various prices ranging from 399 to 457p. however I am doing the opposite of your strategy Anapa, and selling INTO the rises until I get back to a core holding I'm comfortable with and then gonna keep. Still think they've got some way to go yet.

Agree Foxy, I think most are holding back at this particular moment. I also think the big shorters recognise they are onto a loser and are trying their absolute level best to control the recovery in the share price. The last thing they want is a sudden spurt upwards in the SP. I don't know what, but I would urge a lot of caution here with this share, even though I'm sure to be pounced on as trying to deramp, blah de blah, I was around at the time of the marconi fiasco, and have to agree with scarredback and Billtucker. Even though I disagreed with scarredback about whether or not Marconi were a good company (their products were certainly good, it was Simpson and the running of the company that was bad) the D4E swap wiped out almost every bit of value from the existing shareholders. The ones who did make a killing were those who bought AFTER the restructuring of finances. That's how I remember it anyway. I know the massive fall in share price seems very attractive,(I was also tempted and bought on the 5/3 but sold out for a nice 40% profit on the 12th), just don't put your house on this one 'cos it'll be Macintosh who makes all the dosh!

One small point on the Marconi 'comparison'. When my brother left the army 'Royal Signals' he joined Marconi (not long before they went arse up). You say they were a 'good company, good employees', well I think he'd strongly disagree with you there - he only lasted 4/5 months and left, couldn't stand it. Why? The unions were quite strongly in command at the time and he was approached by a shop steward and asked very quietly to 'slow down' on his work rate, he was making the other lads look bad! Just a small anecdote, FWIW
