Yeah but the shares are being held in treasury no? If there was any value in the buy back then surely they would be cancelled. I guess giving away shares to the BOD only incurs tax when the shares are sold? IDK . Doesn't seem to be much use to the PI?

Thanks TnJ, yep, it was under 'Transaction history' Thing is - it just doesn't show under income. Being a bit stupid I would expect to see 'return of capital' under income. Oh well, just goes to show I have made the cardinal sin of investing in a company, whose financial operations, I don't understand

Nah HH, had a look and there has no income/activity of any sort since 31/05. Sure beats me! No sign of it anywhere. Thanks for the suggestion.

Well, IMO any talk of production will affect SP. That route involves huge investment and dilution and eventual collapse of CNR as they run out of money. Someone will but the asset for a song and we'll be left hung out to dry.

Wouldn't surprise me if a quite a few holders are jumping ship.

That top up last week now seems premature and over optimistic.

Yeah, the end is in sight but I'm sure plenty of marathon runners have had that in mind just before they run out of gas.

Ummm... that has already happened IMO. SP was about £13 2 years ago.

This was a good investment back in 2003 when they were down to their last tank of diesel in Rajastan. That golden period from 2003 - 2007 has long since gone and I doubt it will ever come back. As far as I can tell I am now worse off following consolidation. My shares here are free carry so I can afford to sit back and think "what if" . I still struggle to see what could possibly be better (for a minnow of a PI) than the NewMed offer. Seems as though some activists have gone for 2 birds in a bush rather than 1 in the hand. IMO this will stutter along in doldrums until someone buys up the assets CNE hold as part of a larger plan. CNE's time in sunshine has long past.

But, let's see what happens in Q4 first, eh?

Anyone got any predictions where the bottom is? This continuing slow drop seems to be remorseless from where we were start of the year.

Ok Polo, I'll bite - where do you look for 'good' junior producers? I had a look on Junior Mining Network but got overwhelmed with info - like I had to spend some time reading stuff. Mostly Canadian prospects - some copper, some RE's and plenty of gold. Calibre got a mention and was neat the top of the list. I guess they are mostly TSX listed.

Anything take your fancy?

I noticed an African producer that has been doing OK for past 10 years - basically a 'penny stock' but pays a divi. Can't for the life of me remember the name tho. One of those companies one sees but does not take prolonged notice of: probably a mistake.

Might have been Pan African Gold? (That is not a tip BTW - anyone damn fool enough to take a tip from me deserve everything coming to them. usual caveats DYOR etc.)

This used to me my favourite holding. It's falling out of favour. Seems to be death by a 1000 cuts.

These buy backs would make more sense if the shares were cancelled.
