Isn't the award mean to be paid within 30 days of the last deadline for exchange of paperwork? That would make it Monday 7 Feb - 1st working day after the weekend. Or am I fantasising again?

your earlier email you quote Capricorn has determined that, to provide flexibility to its shareholders, US$500m will be returned by way of tender offer, whereby shareholders will be invited to tender some or all of their shareholding for purchase on terms that will be set out in a Circular to be posted to shareholders. It is intended that the remaining sum of up to US$200m will be returned by way of an ongoing share repurchase programme to provide a continuing value-accretive return of capital to shareholders. Each of these returns is subject to shareholder approval.

Favour to ask - which RNS was that published in? I don't recall any mention of tender etc - maybe I just read what I wanted to read or plain missed it. I really thought a portion of the award was going to be issued as a divi.

Nah, I distinctly remember an RNS saying that part of the tax refund would be returned to SH's as a special dividend and part for reinvestment. Other posters on here are more on the ball with the actual figures but on current shares in issue it is about 72p per share. I'm sure CNE has committed to this in an RNS. What this does to SP after the divi is anyone's guess.
I want the cash - not interested in a share buy back - last time that happened here a few years back the SP dropped.

So, I had watched this (and ITM) and decided to buy and site at £12 with this : plan is long term so not unduly bothered by fall (for now). Can anyone see/guesstimate the bottom? Seems as though the COP effect has well truly run its course and if anything COP was a sticking plaster delaying what we are seeing now with SP? Thoughts?

Is anyone getting p***ed off with the tsunami of pop up ads on LSE these days? I mean it has got worse. I am getting pop ups for ladies underwear, flat caps, the Al Jumeirah hotel and Fisher Investments. I wouldn't mind if they were for something weird like "teach yourself taxidermy" and "trepanning for beginners".

That is a joke, no? IMO FI are too difficult to operate in. South American Mainland (not just Argentina) is hostile to UK O&G exploration so any production and maintenance would need to have long lines of communication. Not sure how you could maintain repair a semi-sub rig on the FI. So, even if a field could be proven up (which RKH managed to do? Sealion field? still no production?) I doubt there would much interest in exploiting it if there are other easier fields around the globe to exploit. Harbour is leaving the FI and Brazil which seems to indicate a trend that producers are losing/have lost interest in FI But, WTFDIK, I've only been holding here these since 1992 but any sign of any intent in the FI, then I'm out

Short term there will be some disturbance associated with dust and emissions (and noise from blasting). I'm not an expert on EIA but once rock is exposed/disturbed there is the possibility of leachate getting into the environment. I have no idea what those compounds could be or even if they would exceed acceptable limits. Remediation is all about restoring the land; disguising a huge hole in the ground (fill it water and create a lake?) - sorry - a bit flippant
