Personally I'd rather they used any near horizon surplus cash to pay/reward their staff rather than a divi/special. I'm happy to hold for long term growth and can wait for divis etc. Boom or bust, everyone loves a sossige roll

Pleasant surprise this AM. I sincerely hope that CNR can hold onto this gain.

Upto Friday PM I was actually thinking about buying some more CNR. I think I'll hang on for quite some time now (couple of months) and see how this plays out. If I miss out - no biggie - some cake is better than no cake.

Why should a trading platform hedge/place bets? Plus 500 provides a market no? Why not just make money on the spread and leave the shorting/hedging to the customers? If I owned a casino then the last thing I would do would be to visit another casino and place large bets with the income from my casino: that probably doesn't make much sense. I'll get my coat.

Yeah agree - CNE should not show any interest in declining oil fields - take the cash and look for gas. And give some of it to shareholders.

IMO nobody in their right mind would buy debt owed by Gov of India for 80p in the £ irrespective of the fact the debt is £1.3Bn. It would be for far far less - more like 20p in the £. But WTFDIK.

This is not a matter for UK Gov. Ands if they did get involved they would probably c**k it up and make matters worse.

So around about March 19 will tell us of Indian Gov will pay up. Might not see much movement until then unless gamblers choose to pile on on anticipation of a pay out. If CNE is serious about seizing assets then maybe seizing assets the moment the deadline passes might stimulate a response.

Doubt they will have much joy seizing Air India planes - not as if they will be worth much these days. Ships tho'? Interesting development. FWIW I hope they pursue this with vigour.
