Didn't take long for dimwit to stick his oar in. He said it was councils failing to implement safety measures that was the cause. Why did the fire spread so quickly internally and was not contained in that first flat on the (4th?) floor? The fire brigade were there in 6 mins, by then it was too late! Are not these flats supposed to be self contained little fortressess to resist a fire for up to 60 mins giving the FB time to arrive and sort out the fire? Luckily I don't live in a Tower Block (never wanted to or would) purely because they are death traps imo and I have heard of horror stories of life in some S.London tower blocks. Paying an extra £100 a week (back in the day) for a private rent accommodation for peace of mind was worth it. Of course now in most parts of London monthly rents are outrageous. In my area £1000.pcm might get you a bed sit.

The NHS require 6000 blood doners every day to give blood, to keep up with demand. Back to the London fire there were 120 flats over 20+ floors and only 1 method of escape! That cannot be right given that lifts in tower blocks are notoriously unreliable. Surely there should have been 4 routes up (stairs) one at each corner of the building? But wtfdik!

One of teachers new advisors is the guy who blocked fire safety check on flats! You bloody couldn't make it up! A number of recomendations from that last tower block fire (the inquiry took 7 years) when 6 were killed, have not been put into use. One of which was sprinklers.

Well cellis you can sell for 8.18 so your doing money atm but that's usual after only a day. You have summed it up perfectly DD77. Apart from the points you raised Zam does not need to expand via the take over route. There would be no appetite for this imo. A company with a mrkt cap of barely £3m and loss making, facing similar problems to Zam I think would be better off sorting themselves out than us deploying management to Mozambique. A def non starter!!
