Economy slowing (we hear that every week) retail sales slowing (we hear that every month) ultra cheap cash having ripples into the general economy, long term bond yields being brought down by QE and low productivity keeping real wages low. Zero returns on cash increase the appetite for risk (see the stock mrkt) yet higher rates would push house prices down but not by enough to encourage new mortgages. Ideally push rates up, encourage saving, spend less, oops won't help the economy grinding slowly to a halt (GDP up 0.2pc) in Q1. If that's the best we can do I don't see a rise anytime soon. Won't help us here if rates start rising to 2.5% which many say is what they should be.

Unfortunately our bod do not seem to realise (best case version) or wilfully and blindly are ignorant of the necessity of news flow for a stock nobody has ever heard of.
