Can't agree with you invstrat. Adding to the IOCs costs when production is rising would be self defeating and a seriously stupid move. You dont encourage investment by piling on costs. However this being the KRG you never know!

Material increases in revenues, profits, fcf, debt reduction and eps (doubled) should see a bright start to trading this morning. Not enough to get us over the '3' roundophobia no but surely pretty damn close?

Could be looking at an 80% increase to H1 revenues ($157) / ($87m). To date (4 months) rec'd $103m. Throws down all sorts of goodies to the bottom line which lem has fully detailed in prev posts. If the mrkt don't cotton on to what is happening in G they are not doing their job. That's c.44 conservative pps and just 6x earnings. Heh guys...perhaps this is the new paradigm in oily sp's and we have not cottoned on? Wouldn't be the first time I'm behind the 8 ball!

Investors cont to see value in mrkts even at this stage in the 9 year bull run. Have to say backed up by mostly stellar nos from US companies Q2 nos. In Blighty investors have had to contend with a chaotic Govt in turmoil, a likely leadership contest or worse a Corbin Govt and a hard Brexit that could knock mrkts for six....yet the London mrkt has barely budged trading in a narrow 300 range since April and flat ytd. Could it be that investors think we'll just carry on as before and a hard Brexit will have little impact? Come what may companies and management are remarkably adept at managing change and prospering over the long term. The dire warnings following the referendum from the BOE, Treasury etc have had zero impact. Companies are buying back their own shares, dividends are rising and the av yield is c.4% while long term gilts yield 1.6%. Perhaps the uber bears have called it wrong again while China is now ramping up tariffs on a whole slew of US imports this will give succour to the dooomongers that eventually.... they will be right on the sell side. I'm bang in the middle seeing both sides of the argument but i'm eering on the downside if not in '18 for sure '19 as the US economy is likely to post lower nos. See I won the FCS....again sorry guys but at least G performed better than me at Goodwood (100 points behind winner) my worst Goodwood festival since last bloody year. Let's hope that G results next week confirm progress ytd. You make some good points Lem. You cannot detect the direction of travel on a day/week of sp moves. There are other agendas at play short term of which lth's should not concern themselves with. Rest assured G men cash is piling up, costs are well controlled & debts are negligible. I'm happy holding while the mrkt does not see the extraordinary value here it's their loss. Maggie said you can't buck the markets however on this occasion I bloody well am!

You dont want to be out of oil stocks if a major escalation in the region affecting crude blows up. With S.A. suspending its tankers from entering the Red Sea any interruption to tanker traffic could be disastrous. About 5m boe are shipped through the Mandeb Strait into the Red Sea and around 10% of S.A. exports go through the Red Sea, unloaded at Ain Sukhana then through the Sumed pipeline to the Med and European mrkts. Despite the risks the OP has barely moved thinking this is just 'sabre rattling' as the chance of the Houthis sinking a giant tanker are remote given their lack of firepower. If S.A. have to truck oil via the Cape who knows where prices will go. The US controls exit from the Hormuz where c.20% of the world's supply goes through. Threatening Hormuz closure puts pressure on the US to find a solution as Iran which supplies many countries through Hormuz can blame the US for generating a geopolitical crisis. As the Yemen war drags on and sanctions kick in the oil risk premium is bound to rise. So maritime attacks and strikes on other S.A targets, a Iranian nuclear restart could lead to a conflagration in the ME. It's a danger mrkts cannot ignore anymore.

Hi, comeonvog I agree no crash but a healthy correction as this bull mrkt is like an old manky stale meat pie. Who really knows mrkts have a capacity to confuse and astound and atm are plodding along. A break will come but what will be the spur? Rates factored in, inflation under control, trade worries easing, Brexit or will the mrkt make one up like the '87 one from out of the blue. We will be kept guessing.

London was flat with little notable news to spur mrkts either way, Ftse u/c, 250 +9, others off a few points awaiting BOE moves on rates Thursday, BOJ on Wed and the Fed on Friday. Shares moving were VODA(+c.4%) on activist investor Elliott stake building and GVC the betting giant on joint US venture with MGM Resorts and Sage our no 2 tech stock fell 5% on Nsdq woes. Consumer borrowing was little changed in June (£5.4bn) and a report that China is prepared to do deals with the UK once we leave the EU went unnoticed. In the US stocks headed south from the bell DJ(-144), Nsdq(-107) & SP off 16 largely due to disappointing nos from Twitter shares down 8%, Netflix -6% and Fbk another 2%. Analysts at M.Stanley predict a big sell off as the 'street's rally is on its last legs with little to move the mrkt higher now Q2 and GDP nos are out of the way. Techs, consumers and small caps to be worst hit. TK off lows is trading (-8), HK(-160) & SH u/c even as Changsheng Bio tanks another 5% making 11 straight daily declines for the shares. BOJ is to report on rates on Wed saying its lowering its inflation target to 1.5%. Oil little moved $74.56 (-15c) ---Sterling at 1.3132 & Gold $1222. G off intraday highs added 5 which was disappointing given the positive nos from Pesh going into Q3-4. Makes you wonder what on earth is going to get G to 300 let alone 5678'00s. Think i'm gonna stick on some YOB (doom metal) in sympathy with Mr Hussman and get thouroughly depressed. I may not recover...oh yes and coin $8112. Morning all.
