The UK falls out of the top 20 league of competitive economies. IMD World Competitive Centre cited poor Govt competence,
high costs, tax regime and unable to hire workers needed for the poor showing.
The UK is now ranked 23 below Ireland and Qatar both entering the top 10. Singapore claims the top spot, Venezuela and Mongolia bring up the rear.
However the report concludes that short term the UK economy is very resilient. Longer outlook is cloudy due to a lack of vision, Brexit worries, little investment and increasing Govt interference.
