Boris takes a £670,000 pay cut to take up the PMs post worth £150,400 pa.
Based on official figs he earned c.£830,000 last year from his DT column,
salary, public speaking and royalties on books.
The British prime minister is one of the poorest paid in the world behind Iceland and Liechenstein so most ex PMs try and coin it in after leaving office. Not the case here.
Bojo is taking a massive earnings cut for way more hours worked and lots more stress.
He sure must want the job. Still while living in No 10 he will be exempt from any increase in value on his main home for cap gains purposes. However he can comfort himself as he has several properties.
A house in Camberwell, a farm house in Oxfordshire,
a 20% stake in a property in Somerset and he recently sold his house in Islington for £3.75m which was jointly owned.
It's tough at the top!
