Bit of a stop gap imo...further patience required!!

The only 2 W.Africa gold miners to feature in the Ftse All Share mrkt cap index are Goldstone at 644= and Hummingbird at 645=.

The index comprises the 663 most valuable quoted companies. A sp of 22•9p will get PAT into the index at £24m. Not a stretch this year but a cert for next.

Why did the sellers of the last 2 trades yesterday accept 14•10 when the bid/offer was 15•50/16? The 30,000 was an 'off book' trade after closing usually used to disguise the traders intentions and the participants agree a price among themselves. As they are obliged to report the trade to the exchange seems a pointless excercise.
It's more popular on the US OTC mrkts and they are not required to report the trade.

Sells wk to date outpace buys by 1•2:1
(54%/46%). Without the RNS we all want, expect loose holders to take profits or cut losses both being sensible strategies. Since noone knows when MB will report to the mrkt, I wouldn't want to be out PAT pending the next meaningful RNS be it this year or next.

If there were no 'material' differences what was the point of issuing an RNS?

Shares in Asia are mostly lower in morning trade after a weak close on Wall St. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 was off 240 on worries over Softbanks valuations of its portfolio of stocks which inc 22% of Didi the ride hailing carrier which fell 22% after quitting the NYSE to seek a HK listing. ARM holdings owned by Softbank has been rejected by Nvidia on US authorities objections. The stock fell 7%, an 11 year low in morning trade.

Evergrande hit an all time low of HK $1•98 after the Co said their was no guarantee it could meet up coming repayments. A Govt bailout is on the cards . The Hang Seng index was off 400 in early trading. Shanghai is very quiet in cautious trade the main index up 13 at lunch on local factors.

Omicron is keeping many investors on the sidelines awaiting a fuller update on its spread. Omicron is spreading twice as quickly as the Delta variant in Sub Saharan S.Africa. Over 20 global countries have reported cases of the new strain which to date show only mild symptoms and no hospitalisations. In the UK 104 cases reported.

If MB has news tucked up his sleeve ready to drop and their must be plenty what's he waiting for? We will be just 2 and a bit wks away from the trading year end come Monday.

An early Christmas present would be nice, even drill news would suffice but keeping the main course till the New Year? Nah, let's keep the momentum going on JVP/Drill and catch some early New Year buying with Bhukia set for 2012.

I had given up on my 25 target for year closing but its going to be close, if nearer 18 than 25. I'm sure next week matters will be much clearer for investors to decide whether to ride with PAT into 2022/3 or move on.

Given equity mrkts are now having to deal with another strain of the virus, rate rises in the pipeline and real inflation likely well above the Fed's 6%-7%, maybe gold notwithstanding ... cash and the sidelines are the safest places to be as US mrkts have been on a one way tare up since end 2018 when the Dow was at (23,327) and the 500 (2507). Exclude the ftse (6728) which has gained 394 over the same period.

A better end to the week for PAT holders, the shares rose closing at 14•5 on vols over 1m for the 5th straight week. Buys outpacing sells by 1•7:1 due in the main to Director M.Higgins adding to his holding on Thursday which pis like to see. News that India is accepting to forego tax claims and return monies in lieu of foreign companies dropping legal claims for damages helped sentiment. How this pans out in our prospectors license case remains to be seen but holders remain positive.

Other WA gold miners trended lower (see below). Gold despite all the bullish commentary fell $8 on the week and the other so called safe haven Bitcoin, latest price $47,282 is down 11%.

Crazy indeed Prof, I hope you told them what they could do with it! In a similar vein mine host at my local retreat tells me that her gas bill will be doubling next year so expect a big hike in beer prices!

Wall's 3 major indexes closed higher led up by cyclicals as investors bght the dips. The Dow rallied gaining c.2% (618). Boeing, Amex and Visa outperformed on the big board while Apple, Merck & J&J lagged.

S&P 500 rose 1•4% with energy and financials leading the way as all 11 sectors were in the black. On the economy new job claims rose 222,000 for wk/end Nov 27, lower than the 240,000 forecast, however the lowest recorded since 1969. Total continuing claimants across the US was 1•965m.

There is a debate to be had about Director buying. Most investors will see it as a vote of confidence in the Co and count me in that Company.

Some say they are just supporting a flagging share price which let's face it applies here, so us investors have to make a decision. Do we back Michael Higgins or follow the money?

Good to see Director buying....

First case of omnicrom reported in the US and the Fed's more hawkish stance on tapering and rates upset investors yesterday. With no other mrkt moving factors investors decided that with so much uncertainty a $ in hand was best hung on to and retreated to the sidelines awaiting news on the new virus strain.

The only sector doing well was Banking as t/bill yields rose. Gold was flat to lower on news that the (AISC) rose 3•6% q/q to $1123 ozs the highest since mid 2013. Yet gold bulls are not disheartened many predicting a massive rally as inflation hits 10% or worse and with a failed attempt to raise rates there will be a decade of resource shortages and gold price rises.
