Yes of course they can hand over cash to their subsidiary. The bookkeeping is Dr Investment in Subsidiary, Cr Bank. When they dividend it to shareholders the entry is Dr P&L account, Cr Investment in Subsidiary. My fees are £2,500, thank you very much.

The Accustem shares are a dividend so I expect the procedures follow the LSE Dividend Procedure Timetable. As the Record Date is Friday, the share go ex dividend the day before so you have to hold COB on Wednesday on a T2 trade to qualify for the Accustem share dividend.
"Record date should normally be a Friday, therefore with standard settlement of T+2, the associated Ex date falls one business day earlier. "

I looked back to my last post on LND and Jimmyo was saying "I've held Landore stock since 1996 and am very, very disappointed in the progress of this company..Most everyone keeps saying how good the potential is for this company so why in hell hasn't it done something. " Dunno if Jimmyo is still in but it looks like maybe just maybe.....
Thanks for that Lemmy. What you would do with surplus cash is add it to the earnings multiple as any acquirer would just dividend it up (reducing its cost). So at your 20% return the value would be £16m + £9m.
