All bar 2000 shares 1000 in an ISA and 1000 outside, couldn't quite cut ties completely.
Lost £48k - so thanks for that Chris Fraser - a little more honesty on your part might well have saved me an many others,( who have often lost more than me and could afford to do so far less than I can), a good deal of money and heartache - although it was half of my pension lump sum and my hopes of passing on something really worthwhile to my heirs.
You have taught me a lot about share trading and human nature. I cannot believe you can sleep easily at night, you certainly shouldn't. Dishonesty and incompetence on a breathtaking scale for which you will be rewarded far better than many far poorer, working folk. RESIGN !
To all those I've talked to on this board over the years best wishes and I really hope things work out for you. See you on the AEX and SOLO boards, I will look in here as well. GLA.

Hi Fred I emailed them but have got no response.
Intending to sell all bar a few thousand today - very sad and like many, losing a great deal of cash but sadder still that we gave all been treated like this and the money men, both in and out of SXX, are getting away with it.
Will keep a weather on here, to see what is happening. Best wishes to all.

Why would anyone buy 10m shares, (unless its AAL) ?

Fred exactly the same here. I've pressed the deal button half a dozen times to get a orice today and each time couldn't bring myself to sell. Can't see a better offer coming in all honesty, can't believe the company can have been so dishonest and misled us so badly, implying over and over a deal could be done, while all the time they were negotiating a sell out to Anglo American which would wipe us all out. Watching the sp to see what it does today, amazing how it can stay so stable at 5.50 don't you think ? The mine will be built but our dreams have been the price.

CP do you infer from this that the deal with one dyas is not working out, or that the loan arranged for the deal is no longer available ?
Seems a strange thing to do if all is progressing well ?

And we will all be skint. Fantastic.

Certainly an option I'm considering.
Just holding for a while to see if anything else interesting comes along there.

It'll have to go some but I do think its possible we'll see a good return eventually.
It won't cover my losses on SXX but a little profit here would be extremely welcome !

same here ffc - certainly not making any hasty decisions until we see if there are any alternatives.
A comment from the BOD re the apparent total failure to raise debt or look for more funds from equity wouldn't go amiss either. This deal may save SXX ( as part of AAL ) but it does very little for LTH except crystalise huge losses.

fj I hold 475,000 SXX @ an ave of 15.7p - so while its true they are up 34% today ( to 5.5 - the proposed offer price from AAL ) I and a hell of a lot of other PI's ( maybe 85,000 ) holding shares way north of 5.5 don't see it quite that way.
You win some you lose some - this one (SXX) looks like costing me £50k.
Lets hope AEX finally come good.

Anyone know how many shares PI's hold v Institutions ?
As I recall II's hold around 30% ? So this would presumably go to an EGM for us to vote ?

Now down 51p - around 2.5% why doesn't the market like this offer ?

AAL are worth £28.9bn their shares are £21.16 (and are down today).
How much will SXX lift their value and how many shares would you have at £21 a share ?
Holding in hopes of a better offer than this, which is derisory IMO.

Or whatever % of your original investment is left ( 33% in my case or £25k out of £75k ) diluted by whatever % of AA SXX will represent ? No thanks.
