Anybody else having problems registering with link registrars ?
HL told me Fri my shares would be withdrawn and Link Registrars informed electronically Fri pm.
Talked to them today and they are aware of my shares but wanted the share certificate number ( which I did not know they would need ) before they could give me my investor code so I could register to cast my vote. They could not be persuaded to give the code to me electronically or over the telephone.They would post it to me - within 5 workng days !
So back on the telephone to HL to ask for my share certificate number or investor code ( which is apparently on the share certificate ) but they are not sure they have a record although they will check. The share certificates are in the post but have yet to arrive.
I suggested that given what we are trying to do in securing individual votes it seemed very convenient that HL as brokers and Link Registrars as the organisation enabling my vote seemed unable to help within the deadline set to make the vote.
Am I being paranoid, or are the organisations supposedly set up to help us, trying to help II's and the AAL or SXX bod's instead ? Answers on this BB.

Bellers and the same here £15 from me - but I would go to £25 if Fraser and the board go.

I believe the certificate can be issued electronically the same day and Share Register will be aware within 48 hours at which point you can vote via them phone numbers etc in pedantics post - you should just have enough time to do it.

justmatt HL did it for me by close of play today - I asked them at lunchtime. They initially said it would take a week but when I (politely) persisted said they could do it in one day electronically.

Buy a few shares outside your SIPP or ISA and ask for them to be withdrawn to a certificate ?

Just gone through the process with HL. After a little polite persistence they promised to have my certificated shares on the register by close of business today.
I will telephone Link Registrars Monday am to check and register my NO vote for the Court Scheme Vote.

Latest info from HL regarding the procedure to register as an individual shareholder, instead of the default position of Nominee accounts being counted as one shareholder.

In order to do so they must:
• Move at least 1 share(s) into certificated form, these shares will then be held in their name. One can withdraw a minimum of 1 share which will still give them their shareholder voting rights
• Any instruction to do so needs to be passed to the HL Certificated Withdrawals department by 5pm Friday 21st February 2020. Any instruction needs to clearly state the number of Shares to be withdrawn. Best done over the phone as there seems to be a backlog if instructions are sent via secure messaging.
• Once the stock withdrawal process is complete, they will be classed as an individual shareholder and will then be able to submit their vote with Link Registrars (0371 664 0300).
• There is a 2 day turnaround from giving instructions to HL to the shares being registered in their own name
• The individual will have to contact the registrars to then vote with regards to the shares that they’ve withdrawn. They don’t need to wait for the physical certificated copies as they will be on the electronic register.
• If one continues to hold shares with HL, then they will still require a further voting instruction through them, before their deadline of noon on Wednesday 26 February 2020.
• There is no charge to do this through HL
• Beware that once shares have been removed into certificated form the onus is on the individual investor to submit their vote with the Link Registrars and there may not be sufficient time to do this before the deadline of 11 am on Friday 28 February.

Once Link Registrars confirm that your name is on their register, they can post out your Investor Code, which enables you to vote electronically on [Link Removed], after registering online.

Time is short; hope the above is helpful to anyone wishing to have their individual vote counted at the Meetings on 3rd March.

to arrange a Proxy vote.
Read KOH's excellent post of 21:27 carefully then ring whoever holds your shares and follow the procedures described in the post.

I have amended my instructions to HL to ask them to act as a proxy and cast my No vote at the Court Meeting as an individual vote on my behalf for the shares I hold in both my ISA and in my Stocks and Shares account.
Hopefully that's two more No votes ! GLA LTH

Another view would be to look at how many cheap shares you could buy if you have the appetite for the risk - no recommendation as always DYOR.
I am holding cash in case the no vote goes through ( it may not ) to buy some bonds or equity if asked - think how many shares you might be able to buy ? The bonds are also a good buy if you don't want shares but have the time and we get the deal we want ?

He will - once we vote No, the deal with AAL collapses, his cosy arrangement with them disappears and he faces an AGM intent on removing him or redundancy and the loss of all his shares, if he doesn't get a better deal sorted.

Ffc for what its worth I no longer believe a word the board say and would still vote no to see what really happens, rather than trust them to be honest, if I hadn't already done so.
I see no reason why the board should get away with a deal that robs all of us and protects them.
My hope is that we either we get a deal that keeps the company independent and gives us a chance to complete the project (and remove those who tried to take it off us), or it goes into administration and they sink with us.
Fraser and his colleagues deserve no better lMO.
