Late stage Covid and SNG00131 Jul 2020 23:53
Very interesting read on the phase 1 trials.
* Nasal administration with Foralumab could potentially modulate or stimulate immune system to suppress cytokine storm and reduce respiratory failure in COVID-19 patients *
* Nasal administration of Foralumab may be combined with other anti-viral drugs to improve treatment efficacy *
It seems Foralumab is being targeted at the very late stage Covid-19 patients to suppress cytokine storm. This could be a tue life saver.
The Synairgen interferon treatment from my understanding is better targeted at early/mid stage Covid sufferers. One of the Interferon Beta worries is for late stage Covid patients is that it may increase chance of cytokine storm (This TBC)
So if you are both a SNG/TILs holder from my limited medical understanding they are not in direct competition with each other as they are targeting different stages. TILs themselves mention this on their website
'Recent clinical studies imply that a combination of anti-inflammatory and anti-viral drugs may be more effective to treat patients at different stages of COVID-19 disease. '
