RE: AGM11 May 2019 16:39
My comments on advfn
now have clearer knowledge and understanding of the recent Test drillings, as reported in the rns, having attended the AGM. I will cover that first, which I thought was poorly written, and as far as I can ascertain, not really understood by any shareholders ( except perhaps guys like rugrat). Mention of water early in the rns, spooked some guys into selling immediately. Big mistake imho.
The site chose sits 6000ft above MSL (Mean Sea Level), drilling being above a ridge within 50 metres where a core hole was drilled in 2010 to a depth of 215 feet, where no ground water was encountered
3 holes were drilled (MW1) 180ft.groundwater only encountered below the mahogany zone. For the uninitiated like myself, the mahogany zone is where the kerogen containing the oilshale is trapped. Therefore this well can be considered as dry for the Field Test.
MW2 130 ft and MW3 100ft. These 2 wells encountered ‘perched’ water, essentially puddles of trapped water, 67 ft above the mahogany layer. Theses wells will be encased and the improvements to the antenna, will include a casing. The wells can be considered dry for the Field Test. So, the exploration wells have identified this site as suitable to progress to the full Field Test.
Dan Seely of IGES commented: “ localised perched water intervals are common within the Green River formation stratigraphy of the Unita Basin which hosts the Company’s Holliday A Block. Experience in the area indicates the localised intervals are laterally discontinuous with very low recharge rates and are easily drawn down.”
So, it is a natural phenomenon, with very low risk, eradicated by the casings.
Equipment for the Field Test has been ordered, and subject to permits being agreed for the full Test, site préparation expected around the middle of June. With the Team’s arrival early July, the Field Test is expected to start, shortly thereafter. Oil is expected 3 weeks after start of the antenna.
So, with no set-backs could have oil by end July/early August.
That is how I would have liked to have seen the rns written, downplaying the mention of the water, mistaken by some as interfering with the Field Test in the original rns
