Actually Noloss, you're spot on, I do urge RL, who is a highly respected poster to clarify his remark.

If you think someone is acting lawfully, then why would you seek legal opinion, unless of course you think otherwise.

Yes I agree it needs qualifying, hence my question, RL's question doesn't make sense to me.

I can't see anyone is suggesting such, that's why I'm asking RL to qualify his comment.

If RY is not acting 'ultra vires', he is therefore acting within his legal powers. I'm just curious as to why you would want a legal viewpoint if he is acting within his legal authority ? Now if he was not acting 'intra vires', then that's much more serious. Unless I have it the wrong way round. Just for clarity, and what I'm more interested in, are you suggesting RY is acting within his legal powers or not ?

The point is, there a number folk who think, 2 - 3 quid undervalues the companies assets. But if A N Other offers £3 pre FOIL, it would go to a vote and I think that would be goodnight, game over.
Now if that doesn't happen and all is proved up, would a bid of £3 succeed ? imo, unlikely, so it depends on A N Others risk strategy and other variables. Including POO, and who knows where that will be next year.

Would you pay £6 + for something in 6- 12 that you could get for half price now ?

The fact is, you cannot rule out the possibility of an offer being made for the company before FOIL. An offer before FOIL of XYZ may be considered a calculated risk by the offerer, and if successful, which it could be (despite what many self indulged experts here will tell you) would be many multiples less than if they wait for it all to be proved up.
If that happens, it certainly won't be £5 - £10, but whatever it might be, it could tempt many, depending on their risk aversion and strategy. Including CA + Kerogen.

Don't take it for granted that it won't happen.
