If it's massively overvalued at £13m James, please can you tell us all how you are valuing the company? What NPV are you assuming for the project if license is granted? Only then can we determine if you have a serious opinion worth consideration or whether you are just a de-ramper or amateur with an opinion. Of course if the license is rejected this tanks, but everyone knows that, but the market cap is so extremely low compared to the likely NPV that in my opinion it's a risk worth taking.

Hi Gambler, I've not seen any comms from management that would suggest that is the case. Likelihood is a large special dividend, and they will retain some for additional working capital.

I'm in Atome which has had a placing yesterday, and the chat is suddenly full of green boxes this morning surprise suprise. I can only assume it is the strange KatStrangler character as I have very few users filtered. The person is either a paid de-ramper, or just a sad individual that thinks spreading negative posts, and the occasional false positive post will sway peoples decisions. Just block them if you haven't already done so as they rely on engagement and the thrill of the debate (where they don't listen to facts anyway so its pointless). BTW, what kind of strange person wants to imply to others that they torture cats. Weird.

Agree Chromo. My initial post was pretty much in line with this. TERP is about 74p I think, but this price obviously makes no allowance for completion of FID, so in theory you'd expect it to move back to where we were effectively, maybe mid 80's in fairly short order. There will be forward selling pressure over the next week though, so any gains are going to get a lid put on it I think in the short term. In a few weeks when the churn has settled, it should hopefully go back to fairer value. For those willing to wait a few years, its a really great entry point. In the meantime there should be share price appreciation.

Can't be much longer surely. Don't think we will be waiting beyond end of June for a decision based on previous examples.

Personally I've assessed and decided to average down. The IRR hurdle will probably only take a few years to pay off, so maybe by 2032. In this time I will hopefully get a yield of around 9% on the preference shares alone if profit forecasts are accurate. After this is where the money is to be made as all preference shares should covert to common shares and our 24% holding kicks in, meaning my yield more than doubles to nearer 25%. Just need to sit on hands for a few years now and hopefully as construction is more and more derisked the SP should gradually rerate nearer NPV.

Correct kid. The 25% common shares will not recieve any income until every other investor has doubled their money or achieved irr of 15% which is a high benchmark. I’d plan for no income on that common share holding for at least the first few years of the plant running. This is why despite the dilution it is quite important that they upped their money stake as those are preference shares. Even based on preference shares alone, I’d estimate a yield of around 20% at today’s prices for a few years wait.

Kid, remember that we will only get paid on the preference shares (the ones that the placing funded), for a good few years until all investors have doubled their money. After that we start getting much bigger returns but not sure how long that will take.

Calm down Kennedy. All I’m saying is that a small company doesn’t have much leverage when it comes to setting contract terms, and quite rightly if I was a backer I would want my money recovering first rather than seeing the developer profit from my cash. Looking at the terms of the deal thank god they did the placing to get the preference shares as it means we get paid rather than waiting until everyone else has been paid first and then only getting paid if there is money left each year.

Nor me. I guess that’s the problem with a small company using other people’s money, they want paying first. We can therefore effectively write off the common shares for the first few years of profitability. This is why management felt they had to dilute us and get the preference shares to guarantee them a payday from day one. Even on the preferential shares alone this is still cheap though.

Having bought in earlier this week the heavily discounted placing is a kick in the teeth. Ultimately though if it is what was required to get the funding agreed then I’d take it. TERP is now around 74p accounting for the new shares, so with a good bounce tomorrow on FID news we should be back to where we are right now. BUT, we all know markets aren’t rationale and particularly to AIM investors. Those who got discounted shares are going to start forward selling tomorrow and we’ll likely see this gap right down to 60-65p and market will ignore the good news and focus on the placing. I might average down a little over the coming week but am in no panic. The price will sort itself out now we have switched over to construction phase. I’ll be patient and sit on my hands for a year or two and I expect that this price will be much higher.

Suspect it will be Monday morning RNS now, rather than tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Agree deadline end of today, so should get RNS in the morning or possibly after hours. Lawyers tend to use up all time available so doubt we'll see anything early.

It's very frustrating and agree that if this was the US or China, they'd be under construction now, and the approval would have been pushed through pretty promptly (not that i necessarily agree with that bulldozer approach either but there is a balance to be had). Unfortunately, the UK is so short sighted when it comes to critical infrastructure, and there is so much bureaucracy that it takes an age to do anything meaningful. This is a win-win solution for the government and a good announcement to make to the British public that they are listening and taking action on energy security in bills, but yet we still we still sit and wait. WHY!!!!! JUST GET ON WITH IT!!!

QE is a tool for deflation (when prices are falling). Using it now while energy costs are exploding and inflation is already sticky, and probably about to start spiking upwards is exactly the wrong time to print more money. Not a chance QE will be used imo.

Krusty - sorry about your losses in these trusts. What I’m saying is at today’s price it is a very good entry point. In all the examples you provided you would be quids in if you had of purchased on the day of the wind down announcements I believe.

In theory today’s news presents an opportunity to newer investors in that sales and dividends should well cover current valuation twice over. It just might take a few years to see that value. Still think we could finish up today.

I don't disagree with any of you, I just think its an unwanted distraction at the moment and probably keeping a bit of a downer on the share. If LIT went bust and for whatever reason couldn't sell on the case, then providing PAT sold the story correctly, and did a fund raise at a good price, we would all be better off, as i'm sure the dilution would be more than offset by the cut of the award due to LCM. LCM are priced to go bust imminently with a market cap of just 4m now.
