Totally agree . That's the most sensible advice I've seen on here for a long time .
No idea why that came up again , that really is spooky ,lol.
First sign of a profit in two years and not a comment , mention Osborne and posters are popping up all over the place ,spooky. As for RBS , keep this going and we might even see some dividend payments ........next year !

My humble apologies.
Brilliant and accurate description of Osborne , he'd make a great sidekick for Voldemort . As far as I know , now that the DAS share has been redeemed , there are no barriers to RBS paying a dividend ,presuming profits at some point .The shares in public ownership would ,I think, be eligible. Put some money back into the public purse.......Maybe they should hold onto them for a bit longer . Help to cover the interest on the borrowing , lol.
Lack of dividend and all the ongoing litigations have been putting the big boys off , both situations getting closer to being resolved. Quatary funds have been expressing an interest for years . Must be others lurking in the background . Georgy boy kinda shot himself in the foot with this one. His insistance that he would never sell for less than the buy in price really tied his hands. Fair to say I'm not a fan of Osborne , superb politician ( euphemism for lying toerag ) , crap chancellor , although have to admit , as a pensioner I have benefitted from the triple lock on pensions .
Thought you were taking the mick , lol......He's certainly going to be popular with the American rich , how popular he'll be with the American poor might be another matter but who knows , time'll tell , if he doesn't get us all blown up before hand , lol. Looks like the Macron effect is dying down .SP dropping back a bit . See what the interims produce on Friday .
Take it that Trump comment was sarcasm , lol .?
Been a helluva big sofa on here for a while . Takes a seismic shift in the SP to elicit any comment and even then it's limited to a few . Not like back in the day , unfortunately .
Who knows , could well have been there at the same time , were you the wee wuman prostrating herself at the entrance to the hotel . He's certainly done a superb job at the hotel according to the locals , spent a lot of money , currently £26 million in debt , lol.
Looking like they'll have to take a hit and a substantial one at that given that the market knows they're desperate to get rid . Will still take years and if Lloyds is anything to go by , may not have the beneficial effect on the SP that most are hoping . Then there's Brexit lol. Between that and Trump you'd be right in assuming I'm not feeling too positive about the future never mind the future of RBS . Still down in sunny Somerset but was up in Maidens few months back . My mate passed away after a long battle with cancer . Puts things in perspective , as they say . Lot of new faces on here but the boards a lot quieter than it used to be . Probably just a reflection of the market interest in RBS. Take care x
£5 for christmas , lol. You really do believe in Santa. Be nice if it happened , few long termers on here due a break .Bye , bye government ....if only , lol. Hope things are going well for you and Cap'n ,you back on dry land yet or still swabbing the decks ?
Jolly little novel about stagnation ,detachment and mental stress sounds about right for RBS ....
Good post and as you say the finance and technology to undertake these things could be made available , there just doesn't seem to be the political will , on a global scale , to do it ..Makes one wonder why . I could be cynical and make a few suggestions , lol.
How you doing ? ...been called many things but never a janny , lol......Long retired .. Pop in now and again , old habits . Aye , still enjoying life in the deep south . No snow but plenty of rain at the moment . Hope life's treating you well. Take care x
Know the news before it happens , lol.......Certainly make trading a lot easier.
Aye your right , politics are becoming a right pain in the butt........shouldn't have posted . Lex my apologies .
48% of the British public voted to remain in the EU, haven't heard T.May addressing them much and it would be fair to say a much larger percentage of the Scottish public voted to remain and their wishes are being ignored .....No concept of democracy ????.
Have to agree with HALFMIST on that , nobody knows , one can have an educated guess at it but really that's all it is at the moment , a guess . Similarly with RBS , wish I had a pound for everytime I've said to myself " there surely can't be any more skeletons in the closet that will have an adverse effect on the SP " , lol.
